hello... i just got my E870 last weekend, and i loveeeeeeeeeeeee it!!!!
i have some questions, hoping someone out there can help me please?
1) how do you go on SILENT mode (while in movies, or meetings, etc)???
2) when i put pictures as wall paper, i always get a blue border... how do i change the border patern/colour/no border??

Does anyone have problems with the phone freezing?
Can anyone give me any tips on why it freezes, and what I can do to prevent the freezing of the phone?

I had a similar experience as the memory card could not be read nor formated by the cellphone (not E870). What I did was formating the card by my "digital camera" and then formating it again by the cellphone. You may try to format the card by any electronic device and then format it again by E870. Good luck.

sorry for posting so many times...
i have a problem with my memory card.
when i first turn on my phone, the memory contents are there when i click "memory card", but then maybe a minute or two later, the phone says the memory card is "unrecognized", and it says me to format:yes or no. even if i click yes, it says 'failed'.
can someone please tell me why there is this kind of problem?
your help will be GREATLY appreciated

how come i can't choose any songs to play on the music player from my memory card? when i go to music player > options > add music from > the 'memory card' option is not clickable..

By playing the mp3 through the Music player instead of playing it by selecting the mp3 files from the phone or memory card, u can close the flip while playing it.

Great phone.It's Stylish, small, simple and got everything i need. I had an SE W800i, and time for a change, I looked through most new phones, i came down to the Samsung E870. first this phone looks stylish, like an ipod, actually it looked like an apple phone after i put the mac logo as the wallpaper. haha. and it's very small and thin.
Pro:
-Stylish, small, easy to use,
-A2dp bluetooth support, works great with my itech BT stereo earphones.
-nice 1.3mp camera, speaker phone.
Cons:
-not so user friendly OS compare to my SE, files name can't be longer than 32 char. and you can open a subfolder's file.
-slow processor, will crash occasionally.
-short battery life, max out 3 days.
-so so music player. SE walkman still the best i ever use.
I highly recommend this phone for people who just wants a simple phone that comes with all feature. even not the best feature, but does up to my need.(BT, Speakerphone,Camera).

Just ordered the phone of ebay for £140! Its the red one it looks really classy i think!
But when i get a new phone the minute i get it i always want to customize it with themes etc, can any give me any links to themes, external clocks etc? Cheers Curt

I think there's a lot that the manual doesn't include. When you think about everything the phone can do, the manual doesn't cover everything, so there's some things you have to work out for yourself. :)

Wow thanks alot for that valuable information. Actually I have tried that before and have successfully closed it and it fits nicely. However, when I open it, the card just pop out. This is because when I actually thought I have closed it nicely, the cover has just make the card ejected out, but because the covers fits so well, the card still remain in it with its mechanism device in "Eject" mode. And I'm afraid that this will spoilt the phone in long term. But after u have remind me again, and after a few tries. I discover an easiest way for me to make it closes well without spoiling the MicroSD Card. This is how it is... AFTER u insert the card; But BEFORE u fully inserted it(before the locking mechanism locks the card), adjust the cover slowly letting the the 2 pairs of protruding plastic to "sandwich" the the Card(it's kinda hard, maybe u would like to lossen/widen the gaps of the protruding plastic before inserting the card. That helps). After the plastic fits into the card well, gently push the cover until it fits with the locking sound of the mechanism. That's it.
I just wonder why the manual doesn't include such important point.

I had trouble closing the little cover once i'd put the memory card in, but after a couple of tries it closed with no problems... and i didn't have to cut anything off it!
I'm really happy with this phone. I'll admit to having my doubts when i first got it, but i stuck with it and i love it. It's so slim and light, really trendy. I know it only has 5 default SMS tones, which i think is a bit naff, but apart from that everything else is great.
One question though.... does anyone know how to get SMS messages in date order? All mine were in order up til this afternoon when i accidentally turned off my phone. I've turned it off before and had no problems at all, all SMS have been exactly the same. But for some reason today when i turned the phone back on all the SMS are all over the place, they aren't in date order. Can anyone help????? :)

hi i just got this phone and am in a 18month contract so cant upgrade this phone now til oct/nov next year so i need to know im gonna b happy with the phone for abit. ive read a lot of bad comments on the phone and so far its just like my other samsung phone e530 feature wise and more. Its nice looking altho i think the valentine pink might be better! But i got 14 days now to change the phone and there IS NO GOOD PHONES OUT AT THE MOMENT!!!! the only other phone i like is the LG chocolate but that has had equally bad comments on the practically and features of the phone and i dont like the sound of the touchscreen coz its way too sensitive. Which do you think is better the lg chocolate or this one...is there any other good nice looking phones out at the moment. slim phones are the best in my books but i guess that means you have to skimp on features!!!

my phone holds 30 txt msg on Sim and 200 on phone. I can't save a txt msg onto the memory card but I can save multimedia msg to the card.

Yes, the cover fits perfectly without any looseness when closed after I cut those plastic things.
I suspect that even if the four protruding plastic things are cut, the cover will still fit well.
