Doesnt anyone know what the difference is between the E870 and E878? I purchase the E878 thinking it was the E870. I cant seem to get the phone to see the 1gb microsd. Can I use E870 firmware on the E878?

          To Steve,
Yes there is a fix, you just need the right cable! ;-)
I don't know if you can buy these cables, but they are quite easy to make if you are handy...
You CAN by USB-charge-only cables though, e.g. on ebay. But they doesn't work as USB-data-cables though...

Hi Olivia, to enable the 3D messaging, you need to go to your messages screen (option 5 from the main menu).

Select settings (option 5 of the message menu) followed by Text Messages (option 1) and finally Receiving Options (Option 2).

Once the View in Vivid mode is turned on, the 3D messaging is activated. Anyway, its more like certain predefined words in your incoming messages being replaced with 2D/3D pictures.

              Hope this helps :)

                Hi, hope this helps =)

Steve - nope, I don't think this phone allows you to charge with the USB, SE phones can certainly tho

Shady - I'm not sure about the answering machine...I've had past experiences where when the phone's turned off, it doesnt indicate any missed calls

Lynn - there's a 3D enabling messaging function? where can you get it/enable it? And for the alarm clock, which is annoying, cos it doesn't allow MP3 sounds, but midi files will work =)

                - the quality of the 1.3MP camera isn't too outstanding, like you can see it definately, but the lighting and sharpness isn't too great..this phone is like one that has a bit of everything...

yy - I think you can go to the local provider, or other phone shops where they can install languages (asian) for an extra amount of fees.

Crizzle - There was an USB cord that came along with my phone, but when I first plugged it in, my computer said it couldn't find it too. So I downloaded the Samsung PC Studio 3 that's like a file manager for the phone.

MP3s can be pretty soft in volume (depending on the song I think). Music tones on the other hand are loud enough to be heard from 1 floor below.

This phone is extremely light & small, chic & beautiful, and pretty easy to use that I fell in love with it instantly. You can also enable this cool 3D messaging function which will animate certain words when you read the messages in your inbox. Super fun and a very nice eyecandy.

However, my gripes with the phone is that it can't ring and vibrate simultaneously (can either ring, or vibrate, or vibrate first followed by ring).

Also, the alarm function doesn't allow the use of MP3s for the alarm tones which kind of sucks because that would mean having to use those dreaded music tones which are so so so loud and will usually wake you with a fright when it rings.

This phone only has 4 games and only 1 of them interests me (the bunny puzzle game). It would be nice to have more games to keep me entertained while I'm waiting for my friends to arrive.

Hi There I got a E870 for Christmas and would like to know if Ihave to do something to it so that I can link it to my computer to download songs and upload photos. There is no usb lead with it and the one from my brothers fone wont work with it as the computer "cant find" it. Do I have to buy something specific to use it or do I have to format it of summink? dloes anyone know

The maximum memory the phone can USE is 1Gb.
It ACCEPTS a 2Gb card though, and shows the size just fine, but when data get beyond the first Gb it just doesn't work... At least not in the Mp3 player, haven't tested if other things works...
