I got this phone as soon as it came to the UK. It's superb really! There's no comparison with other elegant phones, like the LG Chocolate and especially that metal Nokia model (i lost track with nokia's model numbering) Just got a few questions on the E900 if anyone can help. How can i store my pictures directly on the memory card instead of copying them everytime from phone to card? How long does ur battery last? Is the menu with the picture thumbnails very slow?
Thanks!

I got this phone on Saturday - I love it but I have a few criticisms - the touch-sensitive keys on the outside are too close to the central 'joystick' pad - a few times when I have been navigating a menu my finger has brushed the 'C' button and cancelled what I was doing - this also happens when turning the phone around to take self-portraits or even handing it to other people.
Using the 'c' button deliberately such as to delete characters on a text message is a little slow as the touch-sensitive area doesn't register very fast presses.
When the phone is switched on but the slider is closed, the screen is blank. My old D500 used to display the time, whereas when I look at the new E900 I don't even know if it is switched on or not.
Having said that - the camera is very good, the menu is up to the usual great Samsung standards - and the problems with the touch-sensitive keys are merely 'teething' troubles until I get used to handling the phone.

to the one below: if i were you i would definetly go with the E900 its very stylish looks and feals just right but if you're into 3G and its a major option for you then go for the Z400 but again its doesnt matter to me so E900 is just the right choice :)

Thanks for responding so quickly, and helping me make up my mind, I will be requesting to exchange my LG Chocolate handset for the New Samsung E900.
Fingers Crossed all will go well with T-Mobile

In reply to your questions:
1, Does the keypad light up? cos the LG Chocolate does not so you can not write texts in the dark! totally frustrating and annoying. yes :)
2, Can you change the message tone to one of your choice(either downloaded or bluetoothed)as have tried and explored all options and settings on the chocolate and it cant be done. No I wanted to do this too but I can't find out how. I don't think that its possible.
3, Can you add pics to your contacts,so you get a pic of the person who is calling you?
as above tried all options/settings on the chocolate and this cant be done, even when you take a picture with the handset. Bizarre i know. Yes you can do this
4, Can you actually see the display when outside, as when using the chocolate i can not see a thing! Yes

I have the LG K800/chocolate and none of these seem to be an option on this handset that work .I assumed theses would be basic standard functions on most if not all new handsets.
Silly me
I was thinking of exchanging it for the Samsung E900 if it can do these functions.
Please reply ASAP as if exchanging have to send handset back by this
Thursday 20 July 2006.
thank you all.:-)

The phone doesn't have vibe+ring, it has "vibe then ring" which means it vibrates for 10 seconds and then plays the ringtone.
There is a speakerphone. Just hit the middle button during a call.

I bought this phone and regretted. First of all, this phone does not speaker phone function. Secondly, I can't find any store that sell the headset. The headset that come with it only work for a couple of week. Very limited accessories. Does anyone know where I can buy a replacement headset? Any other hand free earbud that is compatible? Very Frustrated!

I just got this phone in the US, and I've been playing with it for a day. There seems to be no problem with reception and calling, except the phone says it's roaming, and the phone displays "Cingular" when I'm really with T-Mobile.
I can get the phone to stay on predictive text; all you need to do is change the "Input Method" under Options while text-messaging.
The phone lacks Vibe-and-Ring and MP3 text message tones, but these are minor issues for me. The back button (top right touch button) is a little over-sensitive, but I can get used to that.
The camera is very nice, fast, and responsive. So far, I'm satisfied with it.
The sound quality is not bad; compared to my old phone (3+ y.o. LG phone), it's much louder, but the speaker has a greater tendency to "max out". I haven't had the phone long enough to decide whether this is a major issue.
Another potential issue is the phone construction; in the open position, the top half rocks a tiny little bit. If it starts rocking much more, then it could become a problem, but I'm not gonna force it to try and find out ;)

Most Samsungs dont song and vibrate at same time for defect. But it is possible with a lot of mmf melodies (you can do it with a mmf and the psmplayer 5 program)

Let me get this one thing straight :
it DOES ring and vibrate at the same time, right ?
I wouldn't know why not. I'm using a D600 right now (previous one was a D500) and they do it, so why wouldn't the E900 ?!
