Had this fone for a few weeks and it looks the business. I thought the LG chocolate looked a bit girly to me so I chose this!! :o)...The features are cool, the menu is easily navigatable and u can look at a lot of internet sites with this fone (not just wap!!). The camera n video are good quality too. The expandable memory is very useful if ya like loadsa rintones/mp3's/vids etc stored on ya fone. The touch sensitive buttons aint a problem once u get used to them. The phone charges very quick and a full battery lasts about a day n a half with regular fone use.
The only bad things I can see are: slightly flimsy build, fingerprints on the fone constantly and when the fone is charging, the screen remains active.... Hardly major issues though are they!!! PS. yes the fone vibrates n rings at the same time and no u cant use mp3's as txt message tones (although i'm sure somebody will bring out firmware to do this!). feel free to email me if u want any more info

So many people seem to ask the same questions that have already been answered a million times before on this post. Therefore, please find to follow my comments made only days ago and decide on whether you want to fork out over £200 for a cool looking designer phone:

THE NO NONSENSE GUIDE TO THE E900:

Although the phone looks stylish, compact and sleek, it’s highly polished surface shows up every mark conceivable. I wonder how long the phone will look as good as the day it was bought? Time will tell.

When opening the phone with one hand, you need to place your thumb on the centre of the screen in order to slide the phone open. The result is a permanent thumbprint on your screen!

The sliding element of the phone rocks over the main casement when in use leading to a concern over its build quality.

The MP3 speaker is of very poor quality although I can’t compare it with any other MP3 player phones so this may be the norm. I know its just a phone but can manufacturers really advertise their products as having an MP3 player when it sounds like its playing from within a tin can when in use?

When at its minimum volume, everyone in my office can still hear the incoming call. (and no its not on speaker phone!) Handy when your in a noisy pub but not so good when your conducting a private phone call!

There is no ‘ring and vibrate’ alert at the same time! What are Samsung playing at?

Whilst texting, the ‘back’ button is way to close to the ‘cancel’ button resulting in me persistently pressing the wrong button when cancelling a letter. The phone does at this stage ask whether you wish to save the message in drafts resulting in you having to navigate to you draft messages to complete your text.

I would personally like to have text messages saved automatically in my out box without instructing it to do so every time I send a message.

There seems to be an incredible amount of sub-menus you must navigate in order to send a simple text message to one person. Does Samsung assume you always wish to send your message to multiple people? I’ve found it’s quicker to simply type the number of the person you wish to send it to – that’s if you can remember the number of course! I JUST WANT TO SEND THE FLAMING MESSAGE AS QUICKLY AS I CAN!

The cancel button within the text facility is one of the heat sensitive buttons resulting it taking an age to delete several letters/words in a text. Strangely, keeping your finger on the cancel button wipes the entire text. If I wanted to do that, surely I’d simply start another text message.

WHY AREN’T THERE ANY NORMAL RING TONES ON THE PHONE? It drives me mad when phone manufacturers assume every purchaser wants a stupid polyphonic ring tone or an MP3. PLEASE PROVIDE A SIMPLE ELECTRONIC ‘RING RING’ IN FUTURE!!!!

The heat sensitive buttons whilst taking some time to master, require careful pinpoint accuracy otherwise you run the risk of (yes you’ve guessed it) pressing the back button again- Aaaaarrrrrggghhh!

You need to place the phone on a tripod to take a decent photograph! Why do all my images seem blurred? Is this just me?

An increasing number of people claim the line is bad/I have poor reception even though the reception reads full bars. In addition I persistently get cut off during an incoming call driving me and the caller mad! Is this my network? Didn't happen on my previous phone!

Strangely, the phones screen stays on whilst charging. I wonder whether this will have a ghosting effect on the screen over time. Can be a little annoying when your trying to sleep at night!

The phone appears to be switched off when in stand by. Only when you press a button can you see the time, date or missed call/ received text message etc.

Oh and lastly on a minor issue, why include Chelsea wallpaper images? Again, does Samsung assume all purchasers are Chelsea supporters? Could have been Newcastle United instead!!!!!

If considering a purchase, please remember: there’s so much more to a phone than simply looking good on the day of purchase!!

                    To beko

I thought this descusion was about the SAMSUNG E900 not the bloody NOKIA N80...

Samsung phone's nock spots off Nokia's these days. Get the E900 i'd say.
                    ALSO
You can turn off the error tones they are in Exter tones in the Sound settings.

                    To FAR
Get your facts right matie. It was LG who copped SAMSUNG. They are both corian manifacturers dont forget.
The main problem with samsung,.. they take too long between showing off new ranges of mobile phone and relicing them. LG copyed the stile and idea snd got it out on the market firsr...

just to say ive had both the n80 and the e900 both went back. n80 is a good phone but the battery life is not good at all. you must turn off everything including bluetooth otherwise it eats battery. wifi isnt the easiest to set up. the phone isnt that bulky in your hand but is in your pocket. it only has one alarm SE k800 has 4 i think.
orange are having allot of problems as their firmware is different to that of nokias ( orange have changed theirs ) so problems have been created from this. some programes are not working well at all. this is only on orange as fair as i am aware though. check nokia.com forums for details.
if you can put up with a big phone ( have big pockets or a bag to carry it round in ) and can put up with a crap battery this phone is quite good.
this did not however suit me and i didnt like having to turn off all the programes and extras just to get extra power.

i had this phone and sent it back. you cannot turn the error tone off. ie if you double click by accident it beeps. this cannot be turned off. the touch screen isnt great and the cancel button is situated very close to the arrows which causes frustration as it is often hit by accident taking you bcak to the start. messages arent saved if this happens. finger prints get all over the phone. great idea but there are downfalls.

I have always always had Nokia phones and currently have a 6230i which I love.

Was due an upgrade and went for N80. I hated it, it does everything brilliantly but all too slow and busy for me.

I sent it back and decided I'd wait for new Nokia 6233.

I use my phone only for calls and a lot of text's so not too worried about memory & camera.

I saw the held the new 6233 today and while it does everything too but without that symbian business I couldn't believe how big it was. I was gutted, why are nokia so far behind witg the designs of their phones. They're the best to use but all so ugly and dated looking.

I decided to take the plunge and try something different. Didn't like LG and no way having a motorola or SE as just dont like basic software and I went for Samsung E900 instead. Had a play and quite similar to nokia and I thought I'd try it out and it comes tomorrow.

Starting to think that maybe its a mistake, anybody........?
