I am getting this phone tonite and am happy to answer any questions anyone has about it as most of the critisism that it has got are very minor issues and should not put you of buying this phone. Remember - no phone is perfect, and this one is just as good as most!

            Mapulous,

‘Someone who cares? You obviously care enough to log on, check out the reviews of the E900 and leave feedback relating to my comments. One can only assume your interested in purchasing one.

May I remind you that this web site is for the general public to ‘post their opinion’ relating to both good and bad points of mobile phone handsets – you clearly seem to have missed the point.

The purpose of my review was to enlighten potential purchasers of the pitfalls of Samsungs new E900 phone. What was the purpose of yours?

In Samsungs defence, this is the third handset I have owned by this particular manufacturer and I must add I have found the previous two a pleasure to use.

I hope others find some of my observations raised of interest and make a rational decision as to whether or not to purchase the phone based on those independent, unbiased comments and reviews kindly posted by so many.

Incidentally – ‘mapulous’, I’m likely to be old enough to be your father.

i shud be getting my phone on tuesday. wen it comes, i will post an honest review of what i think. however, i had a play with it in the shop, and the problems the others are complaining of dont seem to be there. in fact, the only thing i am afraid of is the lack of vibrate and call. peace !!!

It was declared that slider is more better than D600 or D500.

ouiblette's comments on the E900 are spot on. the E900 is definetly not up to Samsung's standards, and is IMHO, a very flawed phone. bit of a wolf in sheeps clothing. ie, really nice to look at, but when you actually use the thing, its a bit crap compared to other phones.

                  i'm returning my E900 and getting an N80 :)

I was going to buy this phone, but after so many people have complained about it it as cast doubts in my mind. I love the design nd prefer the style to the E370 (OW cup phone). After all the comments that have been made would someone actually recommend the phone or is it a really bad phone. If so, what else would people recommend from Samsung that is new.

THE NO NONSENSE GUIDE TO THE E900
                        SAMSUNG PLEASE READ!!!!

Although the phone looks stylish, compact and sleek, it’s highly polished surface shows up every mark conceivable. I wonder how long the phone will look as good as the day it was bought? Time will tell.

When opening the phone with one hand, you need to place your thumb on the centre of the screen in order to slide the phone open. The result is a permanent thumbprint on your screen!

The sliding element of the phone rocks over the main casement when in use leading to a concern over its build quality.

The MP3 speaker is of very poor quality although I can’t compare it with any other MP3 player phones so this may be the norm. I know its just a phone but can manufacturers really advertise their products as having an MP3 player when it sounds like its playing from within a tin can when in use?

When at its minimum volume, everyone in my office can still hear the incoming call. (and no its not on speaker phone!) Handy when your in a noisy pub but not so good when your conducting a private phone call!

There is no ‘ring and vibrate’ alert at the same time! What are Samsung playing at?

Whilst texting, the ‘back’ button is way to close to the ‘cancel’ button resulting in me persistently pressing the wrong button when cancelling a letter. The phone does at this stage ask whether you wish to save the message in drafts resulting in you having to navigate to you draft messages to complete your text.

I would personally like to have text messages saved automatically in my out box without instructing it to do so every timeI send a message.

There seems to be an incredible amount of sub-menus you must navigate in order to send a simple text message to one person. Does Samsung assume you always wish to send your message to multiple people? I’ve found it’s quicker to simply type the number of the person you wish to send it to – that’s if you can remember the number of course! I JUST WANT TO SEND THE FLAMING MESSAGE AS QUICKLY AS I CAN!

The cancel button within the text facility is one of the heat sensitive buttons resulting it taking an age to delete several letters/words in a text. Strangely, keeping your finger on the cancel button wipes the entire text. If I wanted to do that, surely I’d simply start another text message.

WHY AREN’T THERE ANY NORMAL RING TONES ON THE PHONE? It drives me mad when phone manufacturers assume every purchaser wants a stupid polyphonic ring tone or an MP3. PLEASE PROVIDE A SIMPLE ELECTRONIC ‘RING RING’ IN FUTURE!!!!

The heat sensitive buttons whilst taking some time to master, require careful pinpoint accuracy otherwise you run the risk of (yes you’ve guessed it) pressing the back button again- Aaaaarrrrrggghhh!

You need to place the phone on a tripod to take a decent photograph! Why do all my images seem blurred? Is this just me?

An increasing number of people claim the line is bad/I have poor reception even though the reception reads full bars. Is this my network? Didn't happen on my previous phone!

Strangely, the phones screen stays on whilst charging. I wonder whether this will have a ghosting effect on the screen over time. Can be a little annoying when your trying to sleep at night!

The phone appears to be switched off when in stand by. Only when you press a button can you see the time, date or missed call/ received text message etc.

Oh and lastly on a minor issue, why include Chelsea wallpaper images? Again, does Samsung assume all purchasers are Chelsea supporters? Could have been Newcastle United instead!!!!!

If considering a purchase, please remember: there’s so much more to a phone than simply looking good on the day of purchase!!

It cannot stay on predictive text. Also, there is no vibrate and ring mode.

I decided I will buy this phone because:

                              The design looks amazing
People say its fairly small and light

It doesn't have to be 100 percent perfect, it has lots of features and the design is quality. People stop complaining and others dont be put off as it will probably be a good phone.

At first I was looking at the Samsung e530 well the official world cup phone I was wanting to buy that. But now I have seen this one Samsung bring out a new phone every week lol but this phone design is so impressive and cool. Do people think his phone is better than the official world cup phone? I hope it is not expensive on pay as you go 02.

What is the ring volume like on this phone, I have the P300 but might return it as it is very low. Shull I go for the E900 or the Sony K610? I like the smallness of the P300.
