I've had this phone for a week now and been able to pretty much test it throughly. I agree that the touch pad is a bit sensitive, took me 1-2 hour to get used to, but once you got the hang of it, it's the coolest thing. I dont bump into it accidentally anymore and it respond whenever I want too. I like the feel of it, much better then button.

To mjn: I dont know why people complains about bumping into the touch pad when making a call and it cancels it. As soon as you dial the number, the touch pad is locked automatically. It is MADE that way so you dont end your call while making it. I have never had a problem with making calls.

samsung is my fave brand and have had nearly all models and this one doesn't disappoint (yet),i love it because of all the fun things to play with on there, also it does what it's meant to "make calls" which it dos very well as far as the sound qualitu is concerned anyway. The heat sensitive pad is a bit awkward though and like other people i found it bouncing back to standby screen whilst doin something in the menu or it would skip off into another menu function,i have been playing wiv it and im getting used to it now, other than that very happy, well done samsung

I just received this phone yesterday and i have been playing around with it for a while. I upgraded my phone from the D600 which was a great phone but i wanted to try something different.
This phone has a lot of cool things the The touch sensitive buttons took me a few hours to get used to but after that they are really not all that bad and actually pretty cool. the camera is just like the D600 if any of you have messed with it. if you have the resolution set all the way up, the camera lags for a couple seconds before taking the picture. other than that i love this phone the look, feel, weight, screen res, it all pretty cool.
the only other bad thing i can think about is when charging the phone's light stays on which i just flipped the phone over and problem solved.

I wrote earlier that my E900 only managed around 8 hours standby time, after reading some comments I decided to ex-change it for another.

The phone is now on for 15 hours and still showing all the battery bars, which far exceeded my original expectations!

As I was not the only person that had poor battery life, there must be something wrong with Samsung's QC, so potential buyer make sure you check your phone thoroughly!

I love the phone now as it offers a number of advantages for me:
                                1) compact - I can put it in my pocket and it won't bulge
                                2) good screen quality - good for showing photos to friends
                                3) Micro SD card slot - good for storing lots of photos

The touch sensitive buttons does not bother me as much as some of you and I do think that they look very cool indeed. I hope that I can solve the fingerprint problem with protective film although it's a minor issue for me.

Hi all, I had the chance to upgrade on O2 earlier this week. After hours on the phone trying to upgrade to a D600 (which I was more keen on getting) they said it would cost £120 so I decided to go with the new E900 for free.
Hmmm.. to me I think this was a big mistake.

1)Don't get me wrong, the phone is gorgeous but it's so nice and smooth that I'm scared that I will damage it's oh so perfect casing, with fingerprints etc.

2)The touch sensitive buttons - mpdern, sexy and what most phones will have in the future... but they really irritated me. I guess most people are different because I just couldn't get used to them and I've got little hands.

Other than that I guess nothing else bothered me. Its nice, small, has all the essentials things I needed and it was lovely to hold but as I said earlier it will be hard to keep in perfect condition. I prefer a phone which I'm not scared to keep on me in case I scratch or damage it. I used to own a Nokia 6230i for a year and loved it. I did tend to drop it alot but it remained sturdy.

So in conclusion I decided to return the E900. I'm not sure which phone to get now, I remain undecided... any ideas let me know. For all of you who have the phone and love it, good for you. It's a shame that I was disappointed by such a brilliant phone.

I upgraded a few days ago from k750i. I work at the link so see alot of phones and this really is the sexiest phone i've seen in a long time, which is the main thing in its favour. Other than that theres a few things where the ericsson beats it:

                                    1) The samsung doesn't show the time in sleep mode
                                    2) Batterys not as good and u haven't got the percentage of battery left like u do on the ericssons, also the screen stays active when charging
                                    3) It doesn't vibrate and ring, probably the most annoying thing
                                    4) The cameras not as good, hasn't got as many options.
5)You can't set an mp3 as a txt tone, not the end of the world

but its got loads of pros, the best thing being for me it supports wma files. The touch sensitive buttons are a bit of a nightmare at first but already im gettin used 2 them and startin 2 love them. The slide, like all samsungs feels really secure. Hope that helps. One thing though, definatly better than the chocolate.

The reason the phone disappeared from the website is because O2 Online didn't get any/enough E900's delivered. Expected to be available from 21st June.

There must be a problem with the Samsung e900, as i went to order it on the o2 website then decided to have a think as i wasn't sure, then a cople of hours later went back on to the sight and it had disappeared. The O2 people have no idea why, I thing that may have a design fault. Didn't want to take the risk to I chose the LG chocolate.
