the e900 is touchscreen. and get the e900. i like it very much and i've had it for about 2 weeks. no problems and it's beautiful. it's my first slide phone and i've had 3 flip samsung phones before. i will never go back after getting this thing. anyways, it's awesome.

if ANYONE IS HAVING MMS (MULTIMEDIA MESSAGE/PICTURE MESSAGING)problems in the US , i can help. just e-mail me. and if you have t-mobile, it'll be a sinch since i have tmobile. cingular i can help too think. i'm helping a guy right now with cingular, so we'll see how that goes.

I have just acquired a E900 after having an LG Choc and can honestly say there is no comparison- the e900 is far superior in almost every aspect. Perhaps the chocolate feels slightly better put together but only just. E900 rocks and I can't recommend it enough for slide phone lovers.

Will V - I need your help, or anyone of you other samsung e900 connoisseurs that knows how to solve my problem.

I bought the e900 unlocked off of eBay and really like it up to this point. But I am unable to send MMS!? What do I have to do to my phone so it is enabled? Store employees at cingular were unable to help. Do I need to adjust any settings? Please help. Thanks

          @ Will v

I halfway agree with your comments on the phone, but as for your "worst" problem (the T9 texting), if you don't want to keep pressing 0 30 times to get back to the correct word or "add", then why don't you just delete the very last letter of the word, then start again? That takes 4-5 presses at the most. IMHO this is a better idea.

Bluetooth : if you don't want to pair your handset with another one using a password, it's easy. Just go to the Bluetooth settings and tick off the secure option.

THE PASSWOORD SITUAIION >>>>>>>>>> Well wat you have to do is the phone you are trying to send something to for exammple when it asks for a password you type in 1 and the person you are sending it to will also have to press 1 when asked for a password and then it will pair both of the devices and will not hassle you and that person again but you will have to do this each time you send something to yourself or someone else which is personally kind of weird.

oh yeah, and i forgot to say; because it has no dedicated 'C' button (probably because it would cause accidental button pressing as it would have been located a the bottom of the directional pad) the 'C' button is merged with the 'hang up' button (which takes you back to the main screen). Therefore when you are deleting the name it has automatically generated as a text recipient, if you press delete 1 time extra by accident it will display 'save to drafts, yes or no'. If you select 'yes' you have to go back throught the menus to find it in drafts and repeat the long winded sending procedure. If you choose 'no' thinking it will cancel the procedure and let you carry on with the previous process you are wrong. You lose the entire message and have to write the whole thing again. its even more annoying if this is caused by an accidental button press.

This phone looks amazing, and the battery life is fine (5 days left on overnight), the sms reminder is useful and you can turn the stupid beeps off with the volume keys on the side of the phone. (also these keys hide a flashlight function when held down).

But it has some really annoying flaws. You cannot fast forward aac music which is pathetic for a music phone. During charging the backlight stays on and keeps you awake(there is no disable like on the d600). It only has vibe then ring mode (not vibe & ring) which would be ok but it only gets 1 ring in before you miss the call. The touch buttons make accidental presses common. No voicedial. Viewing pictures causes a huge lag time. You cannot simply send via bluetooth you must pair devices (with password). The camera settings reset whenever you send mms. The video backgrounds are only available in the poorest quality and smallest size so they only cover 1/4 of the screen. Plugging the charger in is really fiddly and stops you from being able to hold the phone properly as it sticks out the side.

But the worst thing is the texting. There is no 'previous' button when selecting t9 words so sometimes you have to skip through 30 options, if you miss the one you want or the 'add' option you have to press the button another 30 times (if you miss it again it does your head in). Also there is no way of removing words from the dictionary. It gets worst... When sending it doesn't automatically save to sentbox so you don't know who you've replied to. Then it automatically chooses a friend from your phonebook to send to. When you choose from recent recipients it adds to the list instead of replacing. Therefore this time saving function takes longer than looking in the phonebook. From finishing a message to sending a message ends up taking 20-30 keypresses. (Also there is no option to text a landline so you can't send make the bt woman say stupid jokes!)

Overall i give it 10 for looks, 8 for build quality, 6 for amount of features but only 3 for performance.

seeing as i can only put 30 songs in a playlist, and only 4 playlist, does that mean i can only play 30 songs at a time and have to change playlist everytime one finishes ? can i not just play thema ll at one time ?

                                  thank you for any replies

Ok, I've had it for 4 days now, and its passed the short term test. The phone is solid, takes wonderful pics (similar to SE 2 mpx, but auto-focus would be NICE). The mp3 player is SO much improved over previous samsungs, as is much of the OS. As usual, the software is fast, and solid. The phone does grab fingerprints like no other, but its really just more of an excuse to take it out, wipe it off, and admire it some more. :-D Touch sensitive buttons take about 10-15 minutes to get used to, then theyre great! I recomend the phone to just about anyone, but if you need something tough, that can take a beating, look elsewhere (samsung x700 is great) Cheers!
