I got this Phone tow days ago and i can say that its a great phone
the Camera its great (( Equal to the W800 which my bro has )) the sound is clear but not louder than the Samsung P850 (( which i owned ))
The software is fantastic no problem with it so far
i give this phone (9/10)

YES!! YOU CAN USE A 2GB MicroSD/Transflash card in your E900~! I just tried out a SanDisk 2gb card in my own E900 tonite and it recognizes the entire memory capacity and shows all of it as available.
YES!! You can use an mp3 file as a ringtone, but you need to save it on the phone and NOT on the microSD card.
NO! You cannot not use an mp3 as a SMS alert.
YES!! The e900 is usually packaged with the data cable so you can connect to your pc and do all the file transfer tasks you want. If your phone doesn't include the softward cd, samsungs website has it available for download for free.

NOTE:
I don't count on camera in any phone brand,
simply because there is no normal optics, sensors (except for Panasonic's phones, because Panasonic does manufacture its own sensor) or camera features in any cell. phone today.
But in terms of Small memory MP3 players there is a huge progress! In this case Samsung is one step ahead of Nokia , because no Nokia phone has a Stereo Bluetooth yet!

SUGGESTION FOR GSM Arena:
In the bluetooth specs, to include the type of bluetooth profiles that phone support:
A2DP (Stereo Bluetooth), AVRC and others...
It is very important that the people know if the bluetooth is stereo or not, because new stereo bluetooth headphones by Motorola, Plantronics and Jabra are specificaly designed for A2DP (stereo bluetooth) phones!

GOOD NEWS ABOUT SAMSUNG (despite my negative view of Samsung's sound quality through the earpiece) is all new Samsung have Bluetooth and plus most of them even Stereo Bluetooth!!! (Including this e900 model).

YES,YES,YES,
you can set your MP3 as your rington.
Also, the samsung CD provides you to create a rington from your own music. If you make your own ringtones from the software, they are 'mmf files' and require less memories.

i got this phone last wedns and so far
this is AWSOME!!!!!!!
but gsm arean says this phone can be stand by up to 220 hrs but mine seems like way much less than that
and also, the handsfree button doesnt work with me. What about yours???

As an SMS ringtone NO - you can set MP3s as a regular ringtone. You can also set different tones for different people. But they must be in the phones memory, so you have to be careful with space!

i am supposed 2 b gettin this fone on friday, and at the moment ive got the D500, is this phone worth getin and does it have folders in text messages like so you can create different folders for different people? please answer me... thank you!

the russian firmware is very good. after you flash the phone you have to reset with the code of full reset. it's work very good. and plus you have ring and vib in the same time.

The Russian firmware will make your English font into a larger, less attractive one; it will also disable European and Asian languages.

It seems to be a real nice phone, however is it smaller than its predecessor? and can it work in Jamaica? also can the stored mp3's be used as ringtones?

I have had this phone for two days and I would reccommend it to anyone it has so many good points! However, I must agree with RaNo on the following,
music or ringtone sound is really not good, its just a screaming noise, phone is in a shiny black color and it gets fingerprints easily which you cant get rid off, screen gets dirty coz you have to put your thumb on screen to slide it up. Also batt indicator is deceiving! but other than these minor points.... 9/10!
