A user posted that the E900 can act as a torch by holding down the volume keys? I tried this and it doesn't work. Can someone enlighen me?

1) Anyone have any other tips and tricks for the E900??
2) Does it cost money to upgrade the firmware so that ring and vibrate can happen at the same time?

Thanks!

Had this phone bout a month now and it's a really good phone, I had a V3 and an e720 before this and the e900 is just so much better, they have really thought about everything.

For those of you that have asked about how to add music to your phone I hope this helps..

Put the cd that come with it into your pc and install all the software

    open up manage files

drag any of your songs into the music file in the top left box and it should transfer them. You can also edit sounds to make it so the song starts at your favourite bit if you want it as a ringtone.

Someone asked how to answer the E900 without sliding the phone up, its simple, just press the power on/off key once as if you was just unlocking the keypad, then it will show up with the normal, "answer" - "reject" buttons!!

does this phone let you use your mp3's as ringtones? or does the software allow me to edit my mp3's and turn them into ringtones? can i create mp3 text message tones?

firmware upgrade to E900XEFG2 worked fine for me (only lost short messages, everything else remaind on the phone after flashing). Now possible to have vibe and ring at same time. Used optiflash.

E900 has a lot of features that u cant see in a first glance, explore your fon more then u will realise that there are a lot of neat stuff.

As for musics, u will need to transfer it to your phone instead of just leaving it in your memory card if u want it to be a ringtone, or u can just press option, go to "set as" and choose "ringtone/caller ringtone"

To 'this phone rocks' the reason you can't read the outbox is probably because you are choosing 'send only'rather than 'send and save'. Try doing that and if you still have problems take it back

I think this is a great phone, still exploring it. Things people may/may not know (yes, I'm repeating some of the previous posts):
*The Power key is used to unlock/lock keys
*Silent is turned on/off by holding down the # key
*Holding down the volume button(s) on the left turns the flash on so it act's a torch
*Pressing 1 when watching video's makes it full screen
*It is possible to install new Java games and get the melody and vibration working at the same time but it requires a 'firmware' upgrade which can result in a screwed up phone.

I'm with the poster below - can't seem to get any tunes from my pc onto my phone. Would this be due to lack of memory card??

Ive had this phone bout 2 weeks and i must say i still feel the same every time i look at it to the first time i looked at it. Its an amazing and attractive bit of technology! the camera is great, and the fact you put a memory card in just tops it all off for me. People have been saying that the touch buttons are too sensitive but i totally dissagree, ive got particularly large fingers and i have no problem AT ALL!!! ive got it on contract but if your thinking of pay as you go with this phone, i say GO FOR IT!!!

I've owned the E900 for about a month (I'm in the US) and here are my impressions; overall, very positive!

                                      Issues:

                                      - No vibe and ring; vibration is slightly weak
                                      - MP3 player is limited to four playlists at about 30 songs per playlist
                                      - Middle button cannot be customized
                                      - Calendar events limited to 100
                                      - Call record is a bit too short (20 dialed / received / missed)
                                      - No MP3 text message tones

The construction is not flimsy, although the top half rocks slightly when the phone is in the open position (it hasn't gotten worse since the time I bought it).

Got this phone yesterday and I love it!!! The camera is great and the touch keys take a bit of getting used to, but once you had it for an hour or so u get the hang of them. :) i would definitely recommend this phone to anyone.
