Its is a nice phone. I'm okay with everythin that is in this phone. But, there's one thing that makes me changed my mind to not buy this phone. This phone does not have the function called "wi-fi" which is important. Overall, its a nice phone:)

I laugh when i come on here because you have comments from people who seem gen and some who dont who always moan and go on about competitors phones.
I have had this phone since launch in uk and never had an issue or anything so good is this phone my partner she also got one.
yes this phone does not have wifi but this is well documented on this site and any review or company site so why do people still buy then moan that it not on.
the txt is great and easy to use and the net is great esp when postin on sites like now. The music play takes little gettin used to but is good great volume and clear along with radio. The camera is great and video esp when sent to pc, screen is great and very tough trust me i bounced it enough and nothin breaks.
anythin else just ask but i have had this 7 months or more and never found issue love playin with it and havin fun calls great too never issue and clear.
have fun and relax it does become second nature to txt touch screen i neves used one till this phone and now i find normal keypads difficult and slow to use.

I have been using this phone for 3 months and I have not encountered any problems at all since I bought, not a single problem. Maybe I purchased a good one. Never hanged/freeze, no drop calls. Just work wonderful. Internet is fast, e-mail is excellent, etc.

Infact i am planning... morei suggest u dun buy tis fone if u only use camera. coz it totally junk. i have tis fone and se c902 in same time. i use it for 1 month, tough screen can used, camera easy spoiled, music even worst to hear compare to all se fone. i have c902 for more than 7 month, all funtion as gd as new. camera nice, gt megabass to enable listen even better

i dont care about the wi-fi or gps in phones those r just there for bragging rights and i allready have a gps so its pointless to have a phone with one aswell. All i really want is a good reliable phone and the samsung seems like it ive bin reading up and asking around and the fingers point at the f480 sure i know texting will be abit harder but u learn the tricks of every phone. im not gonna moan because it has or doesnt have this or that thats why the spec sheet is there so you can see what it has and what needs the phone will comply to, to what you want, rather than read it then complain about something stupid that you know isn't in the specs like wi-fi. thanx for all the input on this phone and the experiance's shared of using it more good than bad it only just arrives in sa this week so the minor bugs should be ironed out by now.

BrandonC, 16 Jan 2009Hi Funky, Are you sure you want to make the move to Sams... morethanx for the reply, at the moment the samsung is the only phone i really like and that seems like a UPGRADE to what i have at the mo...i HATE nokia they might have some good products but most of them are a hassle to use and get use to and so overrated. I was thinking of getting the SE c902 but the reviews havent been kind and to me getting a phone that costs close to R6000-00 (South-Africa) only to have hassles getting the firmware updated is bad on any scale. Don't get me wrong i love SE im a fan but i feel this time they had abit of a miss with the product.

Are you sure you want to make the move to Samsung?
-The main things I liked more in SonyErricson was the
nice earphones and sound quality of the walkman-Samsung have made progress, but the F480 is not there yet. Earphones have a cheap feel and don't come close to the superior quality of SE.
-SE handles txt messaging better-Samsung tried but did not succeed
-SE has better phonebook-Samsung rearranged and renamed all my contacts, I can't seem to find some of my numbers on the F480
-SE has better call making loud and clear-On F480 some of my friends can't seem to hear me.
The good points on F480 are
-The big nice resolution screen
-The camera is good once you tweaked the settings
-The widgets are great
-Interface is good
-Music recognition like track id on SE, even provides the album cover
Please try and test the phone before you tie yourself down for at least a year or 2.

This phone is good so if you are thinking about upgrading go for it its wicked. But if your going on pay as you go its really expensive

I think its going to be a great phone. Infact i am planning on getting this as a upgrade and im upgrading from a se w850 (which i love) and its free on my 315 contract the ONLY thing that bugs me a tiny bit is with texting as this wil be my 1st experience with a touch screen but im willing to learn and get use to it. And not having wifi doesnt bug me as the phone is better in every way with what im using now (se w850) i give it a thumbs up. Im a avg user and this fits into what i want and need.

jonathon, 16 Jan 2009this phone is very good i will need to buy this phonewat so good of tis phone? quality of this phone too sux. i have it for 3 month then touch screen cant used anymore even after service, camera easy spoiled summore. SAMSUNG, when u wan improve quality of phone? a lot ppl complain of u tat quality cant last long for 1 year, even SE C902 just a normal cameraphone, at least the quality of phone and photo taken by it is far better than F480
