Prabhu, 25 Nov 2008Guys any one can advice why Samsung f480 gets too hot while... moreabout the comment re f480 that easily get hot while using........i also experienced that things eventhough it is only on standby mode and the battery got easily drain about 4-6 hours only........anybody please as in asap comment on this.............is this normal or the new batch of f480 is all defective?!

Guys any one can advice why Samsung f480 gets too hot while using internet or while charging. I had been using Windows Mobile 5.0 based mobiles and many other phones, never had such a experience.

I have to say that I really was disappointed with the F480 Tocco. It looks fairly good but as a phone it was poor. There's no excuse for producing a handset that has terrible voice quality. Every person you speak to when using it sounds like they're talking on a speakerphone. My first Motorola back in the early '90s sounded better than this!
Then there's the camera. It is only good for photos in bright daylight. If you want to use it in even a brightly lit room you just can't get a decent picture with it - even after adjusting all the settings. I had expected much better given the positive review on this site and others. They obviously just test them in nice sunny conditions. That's not much of a test in my opinion.
The display is pretty average too. Every photo you take looks quite good after you've focused and then looks pretty low-res after you've clicked. This makes it very difficult to ascertain if you've taken a decent photo. Very disappointing.
Texting is okay-ish. It's easy enough to type on but the various options e.g. Abc, ABC, T9 etc. are annoyingly located. It's frustrating after a while.
The widgets are a nice idea but even with this it's a surprisingly dull phone. I got bored with it after a fairly short while. The feature list is average and it's really put me off Samsung now. I toyed with swapping it for a U900 Soul, as I love the look and feel of it but reports of low voice volume and a fear that the camera might be as poor as the Tocco's made me opt for a Sony Ericsson C902 instead. Samsung missed an opportunity with the F480 Tocco. It could've been good.

i keep missing my calls, it doesnt ring for long, is there anyway of extending the ringing tone, this is the only part of the phone doing my head in.....

M French, 23 Nov 2008Can you put this phone on silent and whats the texting like ???yes, press dial and hold the # key til silent comes up, another way is go to the widget panel and pull the speaker icon out, select silent.
texting takes some getting used to but its gggreeat.

ok..bought this fone few weeks ago and i love it!! :D
advantages:
- huge screen - sooo nice
- camera - awesome! (for those who r complainin..learn how to autofocus ur camera!)
- sound- is great!!!
- i was very careful wen i bought this fone cos i thought that it was fragile and easily scratched..but guess what? i dropped it a couple of times and still no scratch!! o.O
disadvantages:
- no pen, cnt use the touchscreen with gloves on..must be skin..if u know what i mean ;) (im n a cold country so my hands r like freezing whenever i use my phone..)
-for some ppl... touchscreen is something hard to use haha...
my advise: be gentle with the phone and it will easily follow where u want to go

the phone is good but! the pictures ohw my gosh! i dont think its 5mp.. yeah the picture is wide but blurryyy..sory to say but thatz it..T_T.. and the icons oh! Can u plss make an upgrade to the program..^_^.. thanks pls! sombody help if this phone can take the Operatinf systym of Iphone thakz..^_^.
