I know its been asked before, but which is better, viewty or f700, especially on things like battery life, mp3 player and UI?
And also, does anyone know if they're going to release this without the qwerty keyboard. Seems a waste of time since the phone isnt a proper smatphone....

i got one yesterday over here in Holland. The phone's really neat, certainly a lot better looking than on the pictures here. It feels solid and operates quite smooth once you get used to the touchscreen. I've bought a 4Gb Micro SDHC card with it and that works neat as well. You shouldn't try the 8Gb however, that seems not to be supported by the phone. 6Gb is told to be supported, but not very well available over here, so I didn't get any oppotunity to test that.
The only problem I've come across so far is the fact that it has some difficulty playing videos, as mentioned here on teh forum. I tried converting to Mpeg4 in 320x240 at 25fps, but it didn't manage to play it. On the other hand music is quite allright. I don't really see the problem with the speaker, doesn't matter if it's up front or on the back cause it's rubbish anyway. The phone has a 3,5mm jack connection on the top next to the usb-connector, so that's perfect for your headphones and it has a very neat sound reproduction through the headphones.
To go short on this, I really like the phone for everything I've used it for so far, except the video.

I've had this phone for a few days now. I seems to have a lot of potential but it let down by a few things. I found the battery life awful. I managed to run it totally flat in 3 hours, all I did was download 2 1.8M songs in a non 3g area ( took about 10 mins each ). Then listenned to them once each. This is a huge let down, what point is there of having this functionaility when the battery is just not up to it at all.
I've tried 3 different formats of MP4 ( converting divx using nero ) and none of them will play. This is a big shame as the screen is nice quality. I seem to get quite a lot of "unsupported bit rate" errors on youtube.
The menu is quite nice and easy to use.
The touch screen is not bad, sometimes gets it wrong, but mostly the knows where you are pressing.
The music interface, works but it could be so much more, no album art at all. No visualiser?
There is no customisation on the phone at all. You can't change hardly anything, only the background and ring tones. There are no themes. I haven't found a way of turning off the first line in a text message. ( when viewing all texts ) the menus are Huge, but you can't make them smaller.
Mines on its way back :-(

I've got this fone whilst one of my mates has d Viewty. Gotta say this is far more sexier nd cuter. Its also more sophisticated and jaw droppin. tho d LG's got a better camera dats about its only advantage.

when it says it has IM, does this mean that the windows live messenger client is already installed and can be used at any time?
This or the Viewty is another of my questions. I really think that this matches the viewty with this having a bigger screen and keyboard but the viewty a better camera. However, if the viewty's still on 3's deals, i think that may win considering the infinitely better internet package they have...

hi, i have had the phone for a week now and love it, the battery is only lasting a day but thats because i cant stop playing on it. i cant find how 2 get the calendar on the maindispla as shown on the photos on GSMArena can anyoe help. thanks phil.

How to use the document viewer:
upload your file to your phone.
Use the file explorer and just open it. Just as you would with a normal image file.

I just got this phne yesterday. Its great!!
cute, slim and sexy!!! it doesn't have wifi. the menu isnt bad it just takes gettin used to bcos its quite different from the other samsungs.
someone said it has a document viewer.
how do u get that up??

I received this phone today... and I'm already returning it.
The phone is nice to hold, but the features are awful, the menu is awful, the touch screen is horrid and the keyboard is also horrible.
I was looking forward to this phone, but I much prefer the tmobile vario to this.
