hello, pls help.I just got this phone testerday and it is a bit difficult to get used to the menu since I had a D900 before.I have troubles with the sound quality,it is not a clear sound on calls.D900 had a "voice quality" option.Where can I find it on this one? Also,on stand by,the D900 showed time and date by long press on the volume keys,is this feature present on this one on a different key, maybe? Thanks.

      To Loz:

Mobile phone goes to standby to save the battery and thus you are unable to see anything. You have to press any of the keys or slide up to view the details.By the by, does your SE K800 shows the details even in standby mode?

Loz I know how you feel and I agree.

Yes I can take the privacy off MESSAGES but if I do then people can access all my messages! A simple solution where you enter a password when you first access your phone and then are free to access everything would have been really good. Nokia and Sony have implemented this simple feature and I wish Samsung would do the same.

I really will miss this phone because it really is brilliant but this privacy thing is driving me nuts!

Had my g600 a day now. I upgraded from a SE k800, althoug I would probably say its a downgrade feature wise.
It really annoys me that when the phone goes to standyby, it doesnt display a clock or missed call/message icons. Instead you have to press a button to activate the screen again so see if you've received anything while you've been away from the phone.
I am tempted to swap it for a nokia 6500 slide, but having read reports that its slow i'm not so sure.
Having said all that, I do still like the g600. Its nice looking, light and feels really comfy in the hand. its really nice to txt with also. Maybe I will just get used to no display when in standby. I'm gonna give it a try anyway, I have 7 days to make my mind up. There is just something about this phone that, despite what it lacks, you still just love it.

No you can't view pictures stored on you memory card in full screen! You can only do this when the picture is stored in its default phone memory!

This is a very good phone and it's definitely got the looks but I'm having a serious problem with the privacy lock! It lets you set a lock on your messages and files etc, but this is so annoying! Every time you get a message or you want to access your inbox, you have to enter the password! So if your writing a message and you accidentally end up in the home screen, and you want to reach MESSAGES again, then you have to enter the password again! :@

With Nokia phones, you enter the code when you first access your phone, and you are then free to use everything until you lock it again! It's so much easier and it bloody makes sense!

I'm very annoyed because I really like this phone and this problem has ruined it! Selling it on ebay now :(

Just got my g600. When the phone goes to standby (black screen) there is no clock displayed or icons to show if I get any txts, its just totally black. All previous samsungs have had this feature. Please tell me this one does too? Anyone know how to set this?

                    To Steph:

In order to put mp3 sms tones, you should have the latest firmware G600XEGL1.

To find out the firmware version of your cell, type this code on standby mode: *#1234#

Anyone thought about buying an extended battery? There are some on ebay http://www.gsmarena.com/samsung_g600-reviews-2039p7.php

                          Any thoughts/comments on this?

What is the capacity on the normal battery that comes shipped with the G600?

                          Cheers.

if you go to settings and memory settings, you can set which memory you want something to be saved to. like camera.
