The edge 'E' symbol suddenly doesn't seem to appear in the notifications area and as a result not able to access internet! Tried everything...restarted phone about 10 times, switched to airplane mode and back etc...is there no other option other than factory data reset?? Anyone else faced this??

any other software is available for connecting this phone to net using pc....???Kies is the worst one i have ever seen......Using kies always i need to enter the settings.....Pls comment..

Shut down your galaxy, pres and hold Q on keybord then pres and hold power buton. After you see samsung on mobile screen release power buton but stil holding Q buton.
In the end go to erase user - everything.
second metod , restart yoyr galaxy 551 press and hold power buton.

I've locked my Samsung Galaxy 551 by pattern lock. Now this lock stop working, even I input correct pwd. can help how to remove or reset this lock.

I tried everything......but finslly i had to reset the phone...
For that go to settings-privacy-data reset.
Before resetting you can copy contacts to pc using kies.....
Also you can back up installed programs using application astro(available in market).Using Astro just backup installation files to memory card.......
After resetting you can get your contacts back from pc and using back up install all the applications.....

suddenly the mobile data network(GPRS) of my galaxy 551 stop working.i used it 6 hrs ago,but now i cant active it.i chakd "Data enabled" but it does not work.after active it no symble display i notification bar.i cant access any internet oparation.Evry apps aks to enable mobile data connection.what can i do?please help me.please

It will also scan for applications on the microsdcard. Have a little patience and after media scanning is done the applications reappear on your phone.

The app drawer problem is not so big just clear the ram after media scanning completes. And now many custom roms are available for it on http://galaxy551.wordpress.com.and we also have official gingerbread and also a beta ported cyanogenmod 7.1.Now what we want more?i think nothing more.

Just got this phone a few days ago. It's really good, I'd recommend it. Easy to text and call on. Good for wi-fi and all apps have worked great. The battery does need a bit of extra charging, but it's nothing too bad.

You just need to install any launcher so that it can change the interface of your phone and you will be able to see all apps... You can try adw launcher or go launcher..
