But u need to partition sd card. I have this phone and have over 100 apps and android 4.1.2 (Cyanogenmod)

Does anyone know why when I formatted the SD card and set the phone back to the default settings, when I turn it on it says NO SIM card emergency calls only?

Yesterday I set the phone back to default settings and removed the Sim card and removed all data and now when I took out the battery and sim card and then put it all back together the phone is now showing NO SIM CARD. Now I can't even use the phone. Does anyone have any ideas how I can get the phone to recognix=ze the sim card again? I am to the point now that I am going to throw it away!!Help

Hey. When I'm texting. The texts are out of sync. I have to scroll to the top of the convo to see new messages. How do I get the texts in a normal convo as in texting in sync. Someone help !

I have been using this Hand-Set Since 1yr Now & I've never faced any problem with it :-)
Today i.e. 7th Feb. 2013, i got its Firmware Upgraded to Gingerbread 2.3.6 & now its working faster, better with an amazing Battery Backup.
If you want to Upgrade its Firmware from Froyo To GB then just contact your neaeby ShopKeeper.. he will charge you Rs.300-500 in India, $30-50 in US & €20-30 in Europe.. It takes 1hr for the installation of the New Frimware :-))

Does anyone know if there is an MS Word type app (preferably free) on the Galaxy 551 that could accept/load a Word document, like a home name-address-phone directory, and be able to do a word search on that document? Anxiously wondering...

Its already 2 years and no upgrade from 2.2 to 2.3.4 is launched for this model. When is this upgrade available?
Or is it really a bogus commitment just to increase the handset sales?
Plz let me know, so that i can decide if i can move further with samsung or any other providers

I have been using this phone for over a year now and can vouch this is one of the best phones in the market. Its processor is slow compared to the new models and it has Android Version 2.2. However it has best of both the worlds, a pretty neat touch display and a awesome qwerty keyboard. Let me tell you nothing beat a full qwerty keyboard when sending mails and whatsapping.
