A55 gives more perf per GHz while P35 has higher clock speeds it may be about same. The biggest issue is maybe the fact that the GPU is also 28nm which means gaming will drain the battery faster.

People often forget this phone is carrying Android Go Edition which was specifically catered towards entry and low budget phones, meaning it was designed for 512mb ram, so 2gb ram is pretty great to have on such an "efficient" variation of Android.
Also note, the apps that are released for Android Go (like Youtube go or facebook lite) are not ram intensive.
So yeah, for the average and low income user, these "garbage" phones are not bad options given their limited resources.
I applaud Samsung for at least releasing something in this price category with a somewhat "modern" design.
