thejaxster, 29 Nov 2019Can this phone have a custom rom?No custom rom, because it is impossible to unlock the bootloader as Samsung has removed the OEM unlock option from the developers options in settings. And unlike the s8 and s9, this one will not show up after 7 dsys Without that option, you cannot flash custom roms or recovery. In addition, the phone is garbage. I'm sending mine back.

So if you dont do much with your phone I'm sure it's fine. I absolutely hate this 0hone for so many reasons. I've never had to clear so much junk in such a short time to clear up memory, the ui on phone keeps crashing, sometimes wont let me restart it power off phone. Times when will open something like an app that doesnt use internet and will close as soon as it opens, batteryblife actually isnt as good as they say, sometimes I cant even move volume up or down. This is a brand new out of box phone. Not used in anyway but by me. I shouldnt have issues like this with a brand new phone. I think the A series for galaxy is a waste of money and time. The S series , I will stick with that.

Robert Dabob, 30 Oct 2019Why even make this phone? 720p? 2GB ram? Really? Does samsu... moreI got this phone free by adding a line with MetroPCS. Get this I had 3 lines @$120/month...add a 4th line @$120/month and get a "Free" phone. So essentially, I got an extra line and another phone for free. I gave this phone to our 12y/o kid as his 1st phone. It isn't costing me anything more. I could have chose a J7 or an A10e for free, but the A10e had 32GB of internal memory and J7 was 16GB. Seemed like a no brainer free purchase decision. So yes, there is a market for this phone. Not going to purchase my kid who will likely break the phone within a year a $500+ phone.

i have had this a10e for about a month and a half. all my notifications stopped working. I have talked to several techs ..factory reset ..hard reboot which fixed it for a short time. then they all stopped working again, i have checked all setting and everything is where it needs to be to display my notifications numbers, sounds, pop ups etc . NOTHING HAS FIXED THIS. But other than the fact my notifications refuse to work i like the phone in general and sad i will have to buy a different one.

my sisters have this phone. one of them has a touch screen issue where it stops registering touches. happens every few minutes. you have to put the phone in sleep mode in order for it to work again. i don't know if this is a common issue or not. if not then i want this phone.

The phone is an excellent phone. I like the size and weight..its light . The display is awesome ..its really good reminds me of iPhone display it is that good.
I played a few games not a glitch ..sound is good battery last along time ..I really think ppl dont like it because it doesn't have all the bells n whistles but I think the display and operating system far exceeds the 79.00 ..its a nice phone feels highend

I got one recently and I prefer the J7 crown because of overall better camera quality. The a10e doesn't have great camera quality. Besides that they run almost the same with the same format. Except that the a10e doesn't have opacity for bluelight. Along with the fact that the long narrow screen is kind of tedious and doesn't always work great with apps. One example being snapchat. I have both my j7 and a10e but my a10e is a on different plan and then my j7 and I cant carry around both 24/7. The a10e is not my preference but it's like ok. (Sidenote I got my j7 for way less and the a10e is already pretty low cost compared to higher end smartphones)

I liked this phone, but the slightly smaller A10 gives me better battery life and has a better camera. Both great value for money, though.

Overall I like the phone. I have had some problems where it loses the ability to make and recieve calls or roam on the network. It comes back after 10 min or so. So far has happened 3 times in the three days I have had the phone. May be a glitch or maybe more, time will tell.

I got this phone for free when I added a line to my Verizon account. My Pixel 2xl is getting fixed so I'm using the A10e. I wanted to get an android phone with a USB C connector. The phone is a little slow camera is not so good. Not bad for what I paid. Since it's a Samsung I'm expecting the phone to get slower in 6 to 12 months. Good so far. * * * * *

Dan, 25 Jan 2020You're right about parts cost being lower. I recently picke... moreHave you ever thought about the standard pricing of products in China and the general standard and cost of living there?
The American price equivalent of that 86 dollar phone in China would probably be 100 to 120 dollars.
Ever wondered why Chinese phones that are popular in developing areas like India are so "cheap"??
They may be cheap to us but to people living in these areas the equivalent would be say around $200 to us for a $100 phone there?
Not to mention that these Chinese brands are really obscure here with no service and guarantee as opposed to more well known brands like Samsung.
Samsung also offers Samsung Cloud and other novelties that these cheap Chinese phone's don't have, not to mention the UI and overall performance is more polished.
I'm not saying not to buy Chinese cheap phones, because at their prices they are definitely a big steal, but instead what I'm saying is that the phones are only selling through their spec sheets while optimization and other stuff (like the UI) are sacrificed.
To each their own, I guess.

This phone I got for free and it's a great little phone. Runs smooth screen is nice looking and the battery lasts for quite awhile. This isn't a camera or gaming phone but for everyday use it's a damn good phone. It's also a good phone for people that don't like big or heavy phones.

Robert Dabob, 30 Oct 2019Why even make this phone? 720p? 2GB ram? Really? Does samsu... moreWhy is because many people have real lives and better things to do than play on their phone all day long, so it does not matter much to them whether the phone has a fingerprint sensor, very high resolution, more memory, etc.
They just want a way to make calls, text, and rarely web surf, without wasting hundreds of dollars on a phone they're probably going to replace in a couple years anyway.
Most people with the expensive phones get them subsidized through their carrier and end up paying that many hundreds of dollars more a year, just so they have a status symbol, because they are emotionally immature and insecure.
Of course there are legitimate power users too, but for every one of those, I mostly see 100:1 ratio of other people who can't make use of half of what their phone can do.
I'll change my mind when I see someone doing something impressive with a phone. It hasn't happened yet and everyone has a phone.
