I bought this phone for a relative when it first came out and used it myself for a while. As a former A54 and current A55 user, I can say that this device did not please me in terms of charging, there were momentary lags when the processor heated up and the charge was draining very quickly. You can search forums where A53 and A33 users often complain about 1280.

I'm not usually bothered by thick bezels and notches, but that bottom chin is just unacceptable for a $300 phone in 2024.

Come on Samsung, you're one of the biggest display manufacturers in the world, but when the competition can have thinner, more symmetrical bezels and punch holes for cheaper, you should be ashamed.

Raghuvarv, 14 Jul 2024I'm not sure about heating issues in the Exynos 1280 (... moreIf you look at the tests on gsmarena, you will see that it gives 10 hours of working time. For a phone with a 5000 mah battery, it is mediocre. It may be necessary to charge it twice in intensive use. There are many complaints about 1280 on members and other social platforms. It is an unstable processor that is not efficient in terms of energy and thermal management like 1380 and 1480. I think it is

Raghuvarv, 14 Jul 2024Hmm.... If a band or bands you need are missing, I can see ... moreTurns out LTE band 13 and 66 are mandatory for me as it's the main bulk of Verizon's and by extention visibles network. (To be clear I use visible, mainly their 4g as I never needed 5g speeds personally)

So i Went with the a35. And it arrives tomorrow.

Thank you for all the help and info.

I had A15 but 90hz terrible screen this came with 120hz 6gig thinner and doesn’t seem as heavy pretty happy on sale $150 off

When I started using this with Power Saving Mode on, I noticed that it started to stutter and lag less than if PSM was off.

It's odd and ironic cause it's supposed to cap the CPU's max performance to 70% but in day to day use, it's not really noticeable.

Unfortunately you can't have 120hz if PSM is on, although there is an app called Galaxy Max Hz that's supposedly able to fix this issue but I haven't tried it.

                            So basically it's the a25 or a35.
I'll see if I can sapre more on prime day and go for the a35.

As visbles 4g bands are 2 3 5 13 and 66. And that missing band concerns me. (Yes Ik 5g exists but I never needed it.) But it is the same price as the a25.

I'm just worried about its 4g compatibility with visible. So it depends on what band 13 is used for. That decides if I go for the a34 or 345 or not

You might still want to consider it. Another alternative would be to see if you can get your hands on an A34 (8GB/256GB). It is still avilable in some places and is going for as cheap as the A25. And it is definitely a much better device.

Raghuvarv, 14 Jul 2024Have you considered the A35?Slughtly to expensive for me to consider, But I have looked into all the a?5's, so far the a25 is my best bet.
But if the 8gb 256gb a35 goes to 250$ or so on prime day I won't pass that up.

zanezonair, 11 Jul 2024For people that have the 8/256 version how hot exactly does... moreThe heating issues for the A25 are exaggerated. It gets no warmer under load than phones from other brands with comparable performance. Same story with throttling. The thermal management in the A25 is actually quite decent. Not as good as the likes of say . . . the Oppo Reno 11 and 12 and Realme GT6T, but nonetheless acceptable. The only unusual heating behaviour I can point out is when using GPS (which boggles my mind) but even then it doesn't get too hot.

As for the A15: I would advise staying away from it. The Dimensity 6100 is very frugal and battery life is outstanding. But in performance it is about comparable to the Snapdragon 480 5G and is just about enough for day to day usage, and definitely not for gaming. The A15 also has a low quality AMOLED with terrible PWM. Definitely a huge negative.
