Can someone be honest with me I'm considering to buy a phone soon, should I go for this one or the Galaxy A34?

rassolo, 17 Jan 2024I think people do not appreciate FM radio technology. Ha... moreI agree FM radio should be added to every smartphone. Unfortunately, no law exists to mandate it.

Anyways, radios are not expensive. You can buy a Sony AM/FM radio for just $20.

Sorry but this model is waste of money, screen quality is very bad, performance sometimes is very sluggish, my unit even had touch problems and so gave it back with loss of money and I am regretting buying it and replace it for A34 one the best phone in this class.

I think people do not appreciate FM radio technology.

Had an emergency weather situation where groups of people were unexpectedly stuck indoors for three days. Cellular towers were affected so voice calls and the internet quickly became unavailable. One smartphone with an audio jack (and a wired earphone) however, were able to listen to the situation using the built-in radio. Then, by setting to 'play through speaker' mode, multiple people can listen simultaneously.

Without electricity and communication, people was comforted by the radio broadcast. Interestingly, it was the only modern invention that still run during the crisis. It consumes minimal power from the phone battery, compared to cellular transmission. I would say the FM radio is power efficient. If anyone here has some cellular or radio knowledge, kindly give a comment or two.

True, 3.5mm jack open doors to not just music but also the news and the weather report via the built-in radio.

rassolo, 17 Jan 2024If you are referring to m34 video and battery drain issue, ... moreI like the Galaxy A52s and I still do, although, unfortunately, I never had one, and today it's not worth investing in one.
Because I was focused on other Samsung devices at the time, I missed the opportunity to have an A52s.
Because I still value the 3.5 headphone jack, the A25 will be the closest I will come to having a device with the performance of the A52s.

CAVBR, 16 Jan 2024If the A25's front camera were in pin hole format, it ... moreIf you are referring to m34 video and battery drain issue, then you have valid comments.

Should i speak about a52(s) because i am sure you knew them. A52 has the capabilities of a midrange phone but i guess we missed the A52 boat? Well i had a52 ... so i did not miss the boat. Gsmarena wrote a52 was a unicorn and i agree.

Poco x6 meets the midrange spec and price requirement but assuming Samsung is your preference then if we look at the lower tier a15 5g we both know it doesn't have ois and gyro eis. Since we discussed on video previously, it is logical to say that we need the ois and eis. A35 meanwhile, is coming after mar 2024, doesn't have an audio jack and will not even be available in some region.

In summary, at this point of time, a25 is THE capable low-midrange phone, is currently available but best to wait for gsmarena to review, especially on the video and battery life. Until then.

Just look how it takes them months to get an already released phone (like the A25 or A15) to countries all over the world. Months. You'd think they learned how to ship phones by now. Idiots.

If you really care about bloatware so much, go buy a Pixel or Motorola that runs stock Android. Lower-end phones get better prices due to the bloatware. It's what's keeping the price down.

But just solving the M34's weaknesses will be satisfactory.

A Snapdragon or Mediatek processor would excite me more, but if the Exynos 1280 is optimized in the A25, it should be enough.

Anonymous, 15 Jan 2024-The Note series is now the Ultra of S series -Almost ever... moreYou may be aware that many Note fans aren't mollified by the S Ultra (which by the way already existed before the Note was discontinued). Samsung lower end phones still have the jack, so they apparently selectively follow "other brands" when they choose to. 6 Gen 1 is much better than Exynos 1280 for midrange phones, but Samsung doesn't care, their decisions aren't based on what customers want, but what they think they can push on people and force them to buy, and then say "See they bought it!" how disingenuous.

-Almost every flagship and a lot of midrange phones from other brands are taking away the headphone jack
-In flagships, I have to agree, most people want the Snapdragon version available everywhere, but in midrange and budget phones people treat as if every Snapdragon is good and performs the same, btw midrange/budget Exynos chips don't suffer from efficiency issues and for example, people complained about the Exynos 1280 of this phone instead of a Snapdragon chip, but would you rather having a Snapdragon 695?
