Had for just over 12 months (so warranty expired) and speaker has completely stopped working and not fixable.

Nice size and weight for those who prefer smaller phones, but it has too many serious flaws: poor signal reception - sometimes it loses signal inside of building, in forest etc., no notification led, poor battery life, audio jack at the bottom (I prefer at the top), only average display (245ppi) and not too good visibility on the sun. Also there is noticeable slowdown and random apps crashing after few months of use.

A software update popped up. I lacked room for such an update so I backed up and deleted ALL of my photos and content.
Then proceed to update the phone only to have it crash and be stuck in a reboot loop, and eventually dying.
Cannot restart it.
Cannot so anything with it.

Model SM-A300FU, Android 5.0.2, last update 2016-05-01. Many colleagues use it, because it is a gift from the company. I use two years without problems.

AnonD-604222, 30 Oct 2016i have the same problem after the updat .he won,t charge an... moreI got an exchange phone - that was my solution. (It was under warranty). If that isn't an option, you could do a Factory Reset. I think I should have tried that, although my exchange phone is good I think. Anyway, to rescue your current phone, do a Factory Reset (you will lose all your data and contacts if they are on the phone and not the SIM card, so back all that up first). If my understanding is correct, that should bring it back to teh original version of Android. You'll then have to stick to that and refuse any up-dates of the O/S. That is what I would recommend. Unfortunately, there is no way to just undo the last update.
