this tech is not really reliable yet!
- the Exynos 9610 SoC is not competitive enough again in this price range.
It can compete with Snapdragon 636 only, but the Adreno 509 GPU in it is still a bit better.
But for this price you can get phones with much powerfull SD 660 incl. Adreno 512 GPU.
(the 512 GPU is nearly as powerfull, as Adreno 612 in newer SoCs!)
So check for phones with this both Snapdragon SoCs to get better performance
and SW and community support as well.
ASUS Zenfone Max Pro M series phones have a big 5000mAh batteries as well,
providing 7-10 h SOT.

Humayun, 31 Mar 2019Worst battery Yes, I'm now experiencing the same thing. Samsung Home & android taking up to 25%. I can't get more than 4.5-5hrs of SOT. I'm now thinking of getting the A50 instead, yes I know it's in-display FP is wonky, but with updates, it will hopefully get better. Here, A50 is only 70$ extra and with that, I'll get double the storage, better cameras, SOC and battery, (10nm) and as per YoutTube tests, A50's battery is better than M20's 5000mAh. Unlike A30, A50 is a huge hit here.

msmag, 31 Mar 2019Does anyone knows if samsung will send an update for gps an... moreI haven't faced any GPS issues, can you tell me exactly what's the issue? and Yes Samsung is slow with midranges but will send OTA patch. I've seen companies acknowledging & releasing patches quickly if more people complain!

Wide screen, camera 16mp back/selfie, huge battery, android pie, bluetooth 5.0, fast charging, usb type c, face unlock at this price Rm799 in my country is consider worth to buy.
Beside the available fingerprint and 4gb/64 storage which is std at this price ,the glossy plastic cover at the back also cool. Samsung is unpredicted.

*I meant M30 for Exynos 7904 triple cameras support.
IMHO, the reason I say Samsung could have done a better job is due to fierce competition, but I'm glad Samsung has at least done something, rather than offering the same old junk overpriced ''No Auto Brightness" Sensor J Series. If it wasn't for the competition, Samsung wouldn't have been under pressure to bring a change. In the end, I love competition as we consumers benefit :)

- The screen is the best feature on the phone, but Gorilla Glass 3.
- Cameras: adequate, obviously not the flagship level, but will get you good shots in plenty of light. Wide angle camera is welcome at this price point, but it's only 5MP & lacks details & gives fisheye effect, Live focus is hit or miss. Night shots are almost unusable, no night mode, no EIS in videos. No option to change megapixels in camera.
-Design: It's all plastic, not ''Glastic" but no creaks, I don't mind plastic as it keeps the weight down, but the design is very subjective. Feels sleek given it has 4000mAh battery.
-Battery: I get 6-7Hrs SOT, I don't play games, but 4g is always on. Same old 15W charging from years ago, 10% to 100% takes almost 2hrs, Samsung is still conservative & playing it safe due to Note 7's fiasco. Galaxy A70's 25W charging can't come sooner.
-OneUI: lots of customizations and runs smoothly for the most part, but there is definitely lag, especially when multitasking, Exynos 7904 only has two performance cores. All the info apps show Exynos 7885, only advantage Exynos 7904 has over 7885 is the support for rear triple cameras, e.g M20. Some features are missing like a long screenshot, raise to wake, again Samsung disabled haptic feedback, only haptic is in Google keyboard.
-Fingerprint: Not the fastest, shows lockscreen for a split second before unlocking, Huawei/Xiaomi have blazing fast finger print sensors, annoyingly it is flushed, so can't feel it quickly & no haptic feedback. Gotta wait for muscle memory to kick in. Recommended using the supplied case.
Face unlock: Same goes for the faceunlock, not the fastest, can unlock with eyes closed, Hurray for your partner :)
Speaker: Quality is ok, but not very loud, distorts at highest volume & can feel the phone vibrate. Quality through supplied earphones is loud & adequate. No Dolby Sound!
No LED notification. AOD has more features, but LED notifications has its pros, I miss the colour LED on my S8, I can set up different colours for notifications. e.g if my sister WhatsApp me, it would show purple color & I can tell from far.
No IP Rating, No Samsung Pay like previous A series, some select regions have Samsung Pay mini.
Gaming: Tried Pubg, runs ok at default settings, but phone heats up within 15 minutes, up to 43-44C.
Network: Status bar shows 4g+ logo which is CA LTE-A, but I only get maximum download speeds of 20-25Mb, my S8 and S9 goes up to 120Mb. Some apps show error ''No network" but it's weird coz when I test the internet by opening chrome, it works.
Buttons are tactile & don't rattle, phone is a smudge, fingerprint, oil magnet, I recommend white colour to mask it.
Overall it's a good smartphone given the price. Samsung has smartly cut some corners to keep the price down, but for the first time, Samsung is offering A series at such launch prices. I feel Samsung good have done a better job with the SOC

It's not a bad device, especially when Samsung never provided such features at this price 'J series' LOL, but I think they could've done better. Having said that, every device has it's pros & cons. For me, A30's pros outweigh the cons!
