r.why.me, 18 Aug 2024The only reason to get the A54 would be if you want a sligh... moreThere is a difference in the camera department between the A54 and A35, but not huge.
For the main camera, the A35 takes photos with more natural colors, while the A54 takes saturated photos. The A54 captures details slightly better, but the A35 has less sharpening. For video recording on the main camera, both phones are almost identical.
The A54's ultrawide camera is 12MP and can record 4K 30fps videos, while the A35's 8MP ultrawide is limited to 1080p 30fps. Ultrawide video quality here is better on A54, especially in low-light.
Finally, the A54 has a higher resolution selfie camera at 32MP, compared to 13MP on the A35. However, in my tests, the A35 has a slight edge in detail and colors.

Yasir, 17 Aug 2024Please help me to choose between A35 and A54, because both ... moreThe only reason to get the A54 would be if you want a slightly smaller and lighter device and if you want esim support (depending on region). Otherwise, the A35 is better overall.
- The SOC is better optimized and runs slightly better in A35 than in the A54.
- Stronger signal/network reception thanks to updated anetanna design. Qualcomms are still better but the A35 gets by. The A35 also seems to do better on navigation tasks, if this is important for you.
- They somehow managed to improve the battery life slightly in the A35, despite the same SOC and a slightly larger display. The A35 also seems to have better thermals i.e. runs slightly cooler.
You won't notice a difference in the camera department.

[deleted post]Where I live, both the A54 and A35 lack eSIM. So I'm considering to get an A55 instead, which does have eSIM.
On top of that, the A55 also has a metal frame, which is very rare on a $400 phone these days. The A55 feels like a proper throwback to Samsung's A-series lineups during 2016-2018 when they focused on premium designs/features, but with more competitive specs this time around.

Anonymous, 17 Aug 2024Then you're no different than those jerks and bullies ... moreUpdated very concise summery so you don't have to read tons of comments to get what's going on:
- Small phone lovers want affordable compact device because they can't afford the expensive S24.
- Small phone haters say shut up, it's not reality, it'll never happen, you're a fool, you don't know your place, you don't deserve a phone, and you're every name under the sun.
- Lovers: "I have a right to ask, and you're a "hater" NOT because of your different opinion, but because you're trying to silence me, demonize me, and twist my words."
- Haters double down on hate and then turn reality upside down with the crazy claim that because lovers insist on not being silenced and that EVERYONE should be able to advocate for their preferred phone, it now means lovers are forcing their opinion on the haters by resisting being bullied off the stage by the haters.

c'mon guys, it's just a bloody phone, what are you guys arguing about? Whether you like it or don't like it, you have the right to give your opinion. Period.

Anonymous, 14 Aug 2024The "haters" are those who purposely misrepresent... moreHaters aren't the problem, it's how you deal with them. Take things personally, resort to attacks, generalize, turn a blind eye, then you're almost guaranteed toxic arguments like this.
Saying "What are you a life coach or something?" just makes you sound incredibly smug and condescending. Of course you're guaranteed to make enemies if you take things on a personal level.
What's wrong with a calm response like "I respect your opinion, but I disagree because..."
Some people just can't discuss like mature adults, this applies to both the small phone lovers and haters here.

Anonymous, 15 Aug 2024your summary's wildly inaccurate.
Here on the other h... moreWhat can we learn from this?
People should have the freedom to express however they want without being silenced, as long as the topic they express doesn't hurt people (lovers).
But at the same time, you can't change people, companies or the world no matter how hard you advocate or fight back, you can really only change yourself. While it's true that everyone has their own preferences, sometimes we just have no choice but to go with the flow, lest we live an unhappy life full of unfulfilled demands (haters).

Anonymous, 16 Aug 2024Critics? No problem. Jerks and bullies? Big problem!
While... moreThen you're no different than those jerks and bullies if you feel the need to fight back every time. To expect everyone to respond to you with hugs and kisses regardless if you're advocating for the "good" or not is naive and fragile; the world isn't all rainbows and unicorns. Demonizing and generalizing all who oppose you as merely "haters" proves you can't have an intellectual debate and just want to be all holier-than-thou. It's unhealthy and unproductive.
You people aren't willing to change, neither do I. You have your rights and freedom to advocate for whatever you want to advocate. I have the right to leave you alone, so I'll be leaving this dumphole as soon as possible. Have fun and good luck with trying to get your wishes for cheap compact phones fulfilled.

Samsung may eventually change strategies and start making affordable compact phones like you people always wanted, or maybe not. Maybe another company will start making them instead so Samsung will end up joining in and make theirs so they can compete? Who knows?
Good things come to those who wait, right?

While... moreFrom your previous comments, you seem to be really concerned about those "small phone haters" that you just have to call them out by summarizing their whole fight versus the "small phone lovers".
You're not changing anyone's minds with these summaries, bud. You're just letting yourself get dragged into the same boat as those "haters" if you care about them so much.

TruGoh, 16 Aug 2024This applies to every other phone company as well, not just... moreBut with Samsung it's more egregious because they make so many phones. Unlike other companies that make less, so they have more of an excuse. And many of Samsung's budget phones each year are so similar to each other, or nearly identical, just with a different model number to trick people. So they can definitely produce at least one affordable compact mid-ranger every year among all the other crazy A/M/F/C/X/Y/Z... nonesense that they're spitting out.
