While jerks and bullies (which the haters below are) have a right to do that, it's perfectly appropriate to call them out for the toxic narcissists that they are.

When you share an opinion, whether IRL or online, there will always be at least one person out there who disagrees with you no matter what.

Phone is pretty decent, but I didn't quite like it because it got warm most of the time (even from watching YouTube). Cameras are solid most of the time, but they don't capture as much detail as the ones from A55 (blurred text ~ 30 yards). Also, night shots don't impress (they're "smudgy"). Hoping the A36 next year will improve camera quality because a few other brands do take better pics (Note 13 Pro 5G; Honor 70; Pixel 6a; Nord 2T). Those are all similarly priced to A35.

JN, 15 Aug 2024Okay, HERE is how it actually goes: Small phone lover: S... moreyour summary's wildly inaccurate.
Here on the other hand is an accurate one:

Small phone lover: Samsung, please make a compact affordable phone.
Small phone hater: Will never happen. That’s reality! Now shut up and go away.
Lover: I respect your right to have a big phone, why won’t you respect my right to request a compact one?
Hater: I just told you reality, you fool! Stop whining and crying. Just go away.
Lover: Thanks for your does of reality, but I still want to advocate. May I? And can you please not twist our words to make it sound like we’re something that we’re actually not (which is what haters do)?
Hater: You dare to continue after I revealed reality to you? I’ll repeat one last time, shut up, bow down, and be off with you! You don’t know your place, you don’t deserve a phone, you’re a fool, you’re a beggar, you can’t tolerate other opinions, you want a “perfect” phone, you deny reality, you make the internet hostile, I have no respect for people like you, GO AWAY! AHHHHHHHHHH! (At this point foam and spittle is pouring from his mouth and flying every which way. Not a pretty picture.)

Variety for compact phones is pretty low, but you still have a few buying options:
                        https://www.gsmarena.com/results.php3?nHeightMax=155&sOSes=2&sOSversions=2950
Thing is, some of them are rather expensive, thus further reducing options.
Oh well... might as well deal with the phones we have now. I'm planning to keep my S23 until it receives its' last security update in 2028 (2023 + 5 years). Maybe, until then, we'll see a shift in compact phones market. If not, well I could always get the S25 (maybe even the S26, if Samsung decides to still launch compact S series phones).

Anonymous, 15 Aug 2024Your point is so true about people not knowing that others ... moreOne thing for sure is that the demand for small phones have diminished significantly over the years. This is largely attributed to the evolution of phones and how we use them in general, from merely communication devices to computing devices.

We no longer live in a world where people use phones just for calls and sending text, we now use them for browsing, entertainment, productivity, many others. These tasks are much better on larger screens, because it gives us a more immersive experience, and it's easier to make out little details. That's not to say that multimedia-focused phones with functionalities of modern-day smartphones did not exist back then, but the market for them were still relatively small because of high prices.

I remember how ridiculous I thought the first Galaxy Note was back in 2011. I considered it a portable TV or a miniature tablet with its massive 5.3" screen. Fast forward to 2024, and now most phones in the market have screen sizes of at least 6.5" and over.

For some people, a phone might be their one and only computing device, this is especially true for people who don't have enough funds or aren't willing to purchase a tablet or a PC for various reasons, like not wanting to carry more than one device or because they simply don't like using a PC/tablet. Many people can live without a PC/tablet, but most of us cannot live without a phone.

Which is why most phone companies these days tend to only make phablets, especially for the low/midrange market. So no one has to worry about their phones not having a large enough screen for their computing and entertainment needs, if they're going to use their phone as an all-in-one device.

I'm pretty sure the reason why small flagships still exist is because these phone companies expect you to already own, or have a large enough income to afford a PC/tablet, if you can afford such an expensive phone. There's a lot more you can do with a PC compared to a phone.

Those are just my thoughts about the current smartphone market. While I still believe there's a place for cheap, compact phones, the demand for them is too small for these billion-dollar corporations to care about. So all of us low/midrange users have no choice but to stick with oversized slabs whether we like it or not, and I don't think it's going to change anytime soon.

Small lover: Wow! You’re a hater because you won’t allow me to advocate for what I want. Only what you want matters.
Small hater: Do you even try to understand what I'm trying to say instead of calling me a hater? Samsung won't ever make you your small phone no matter how much you try to beg for it.
