I can honestly just say good things about this phone.

Build quality is on another level. It feels like a 1000 euros phone in hand, it is best looking compact phone ever.

Its fluid, have tons of premium features (water and dust resistent, nfc, samsung pay, amoled display, 4g+ network speeds...) its actually still pretty fast and fluid. Selfie cam is awesome, rear camera is good but not perfect. But it is good for daily usage. Battery life is good and because its small battery, it charges up fast. Storage is only problem but you can put microsd card and you solved that also.

Would recomend in 2020 for people who like compact phones!

i am going to use my A3 2017 as a daily driver until smartphones will become all together obsolete. It's outdated in all areas by current models, but it's such a unique phone that can't be replaced by anything.

Definitely a best-buy if you're looking for a sub 5-inch screen phone. Durable, simple and even has excellent custom ROM support if you don't want to stay withheld on stock Oreo.

Anonymous, 11 Feb 2020But j3 2017 got android 9 and is lower budget phone than a3 2017J3 2017 is like 7 months newer than A3 2017 still haven't passed the 3 years promised updates by Samsung polices, and if i'm not mistaken, J3 got the android 9, due to the fact was hugely sold in India, first the J3 for Indian market got the android 9.. that's what i know it might be wrong.. but that's the fact.. also if you search further.. the A5 and A7 both 2017 models which was even more expensive than both J3 and J5 and a lot more powerful than both J series also stayed on android 8.0, that's it because they was more widely sold models than A series, unfortunately that's how the things are, i also love to get 9 android and the ONE UI, but i don't believe i'll get it

I also doubt that Samsung will bother to push updates now since it was released in 2017 and we're already in 2020, you're right to point out the fact that not being a high end range phone probably seals the deal.

Will try to look for over the air updates when I return to Vietnam next time.

And anyway i really hope Samsung would put at least android 9 and the one UI... but the chances are minimal to no way

I've never felt so strongly about a phone: I absolutely LOVE my Samsung Galaxy A3 (2017). Bought the double sim version in Vietnam for 200€ and have been using it for over 2 years. Battery still lasts me 2 full days and still works as good as on day 1.

Can I ask you guys: which android version is the latest update?

I seem to be stuck on Android 8.0 with security patch from December 2018 which is really old now. I'm not sure if over the air updates are not being pushed to me because this phone was never distributed in my country or if Samsung somehow considers that less than 2 years support is acceptable (spoiler alert: it is NOT!).

Appreciate any feedback from other users.

I bought this phone in 2017 and still its performance is satisfactory. I like its small size, water and dust resistance.
