Also dedicated micro sd card and headphone jack coz i got a ton of music and photos. I dont mind the quality of photo nowadays coz i dont upload. My best bet was the sony xperia xz1 compact but its now discontinued, i still buy a 2nd hand tho. Hopefully this phone will become available in the philippines.

The only budget compact phone available. Wish samsung released more of the samw dimensions as A40.

Looking forward for this phone launch in India. As per my research this is the only budget phone available with width lesser than 70mm and has weight lesser than 150gm. As per the media reports this phone should get launched in India on 4th Sep.

no AoD ... unbelievable. bought an a40 just assuming it would have AoD.. having to use an App which is lame. come on samsung, sort it out.
Not waterproof.. disappointing.

I just got my A40 and I don't notice any change in connectivity to my old Sony Xperia Z1 Compact. If anything, it's even better.
It also has a proximity sensor (as stated in Samsung page), despite some users claiming it doesn't.

I live in a place with poor reception (isolated apartment) and this one performs far better than both my old S7 Active and Nokia 5.

Worst phone I've ever had for reception full stop! Really poor lucky to get 2 bars, 3 is occasional and 4 practically non existent!

Phone is good, but have shitty battery or poor optimisation, its draining very fast, even idle battery goes almost 2 days. My xiaomi mi a1 overperform this phone in every way, the battery which is smaller goes 5 days idle and 2 days normal usage, it have smaller camera but gives better pictures. I though i was upgrading but it turn out to be downgrade which will leave me to sell this one.

Dps, 19 Aug 2019There is NO proximity sensor !Looks like it is here, but work really bad.
Under selfie camera (around 1 cm) in display , you can try it when calling with some paper.
Still issue for in pocket unlocking and sensitivity for touble touch wake up.

after few days of usage :
battery is ok it lasts easily for a one day and it still has some juice at the end. Im a medicore phone user
main disadvantages :
- no proximity sensor - i believe the camera is the sensor here to turn the screen off - doesnt work good and screen sometimes goes on
- no notification led
Size - is the on of smallest on the market , but still big.
Camera - no stabilisation

Samsung won't launch this phone in India...just as they didn't with the A3 2017. Both are compact ones having quality...Unfortunately, Indians don't deserve them.
