Samsung Galaxy A52 5G will probably be my next phone! 5G will soon be available everywhere so there is no longer any point in buying any phone that do not have 5G! I will use my phone as a 5G wifi-hotspot when using my computer for gaming...!

I don't think is a good idea for people to buy this phone in a country where there's no 5g network. You can get the 4g instead.

skymfa, 09 Jul 2021Really large screen margins (competitors have done better) ... moreYou really can't complain about lens aesthetics. Bigger sensors and larger aperture lenses with optical image stabilization won't be smaller than lower quality sensors and lenses. It's a compromise you have to accept, at least for now. Multiple rear cameras are about flexibility whilst maintaining phone compactness. If you think the A52 5G's rear and front set up is ugly, wait till you see the iPhone 12 Pro Max's triple rear camera setup or the Xiaomi Mi 11 ultra's oversized camera plate/module or Huawei or Oppo's double punch hole selfie cameras. And no, those under display selfie camera technology from ZTE and Xiaomi still produce horrible results. Your best bet if you want a perfect hole free screen, is a flipper like the Zenfone 8 flip or the pop up Samsung A80 or Poco F2 Pro.

if you feel bad about it you can go with A52, but I don't think it's a deciding factor.

Really large screen margins (competitors have done better) and poor lens arrangement (too many lenses and too big and bad lens island arrangement has become really bad, tedious and nauseating = excessive use of lenses on the back of the phone I wish the next generation selfie camera would be used under the screen. Even at the price of this product

Also, no one knows what bands the 5G phone would support. It may not be wise to buy 5G phone before 5G launch in India. You will simply spend more money to get 5G phones now.
5G network establishment in India is at least 3 years away from now.

MysticDreamer, 08 Jul 2021Shouldn't one wait for S21 FE? It depends on your needs and your budget. The A52 5G has more than enough processor power for most people, has got a headphone jack, and comes in 256GB and 5G/NR support for multiple bands. And it's cheap too. Waiting for the much more expensive S21 FE 5G may not be what they really want. Much like not all people want to buy the most expensive car even if they can afford it.

Mubashar , 05 Jul 2021Sir Are u really satisfied with it's performance, Cam... moreYes. I'd 100% recommend the A52 5G as a good all rounder upper midrange. If you game a lot though, get the more expensive S20FE 5G.

Anonymous, 05 Jul 2021I already know the hardware differences and the lack of ois... moreS20 FE 5G is better than A52 5G in every aspect except for the absence of a headphone jack which may not matter to some users. Personally, I'd recommend the S20 FE 5G though, over the latter (A52 5G) if you can spend a bit more for the 256GB 5G version of the S20 FE. 128GB is too little storage for me and I'm always using dual SIM with one SIM always used for mobile data - on 5G/4G always and another SIM (second SIM) used for calls and text.
What I like about Samsung phones is the ability to manually select a single or multiple network bands. You can set each of the 2 SIM cards to lock on to any network band/bands and stay there, be it any combination of GSM/2G, 3G/WCDMA, 4G/LTE, or 5G/NR bands. No other phone brand I know of (iPhone or another android phone) has that very important manual band selection option. It's accessed using the dialer: *#2263#.
I too own a Canon dSLR and have lots of lenses for low light photography. I have a Sigma 30mm F/1.4. I have compared the Canon dSLR using a Sigma 30 mm F/1.4 side by side the A52 5G on the same candle lit scene with the A52 5G on Google's Night Sight. I hate to say it but this phone takes sharper, cleaner and more detailed photos with a dynamic range my dSLR can't quite match.
The only advantage of the dSLR is it captures the same scene at a fraction of a second while Night sight takes a few seconds. The only time the dSLR takes better photos is when I do bracketed exposures and combine them in an HDR processing software but it takes time and extra work. I only do it on special occasions that makes the extra effort worth it (memorable/important events).

Daice, 05 Jul 2021I'm torn between A52 and Vivo X60 pro.. Which one shou... moreIt depends on your budget and your needs. If you want the best all rounder that has a bigger battery, better 4K capable selfie camera, micro sd card slot, headphone jack, superior software update support (3 years) including better phone security, ability to manually select specific GSM, 3G/WCDMA, 4G/LTE and 5G/NR bands so your phone locks only to bands that aren't congested, ability to hide hotspot name (SSID), and a vastly better, more mature android skin (OneUI 3.1), plus ability to wirelessly screen share DRM protected offline downloads (Netflix, etc.) to big screen TV, then the A52 5G is vastly better. As a bonus, it is much cheaper too.
Now if you want raw power in gaming and a better rear camera set up with telephoto and 4K 60fps main camera video and are willing to spend an additional $205 on top of the price of the A52 5G, at the expense of less flexibility and fewer features (mentioned above in the A52 5G), which you may not need at all, then get the X60 Pro.

Anonymous, 05 Jul 2021The Samsung A70, A71 don't have OIS and the details at... moreI already know the hardware differences and the lack of ois on the older models, but to a degree that shake can be minimised using a gimbal or a tripod or monopod.
I use tripod mainly because I already had leftover gear from my days using dslr at motorsport events.....not even sure if I want to get back in to that now after so long not being able to go.
All I needed to know was the noise reduction / suppression level on the samsung.
it's one of my dislikes of the samsung range when using the stock camera app.
I use to use apps like open camera and bacon camera just to deactivate the noise reduction process, when using jpeg capture.
it will never happen but I would like it if iphone started getting camera mods, especially on the larger sensor models.
I managed to tweak a gcam output curve last night to get a more pleasing result , by which I mean a more pleasing result for my taste.
Coming from canon dslr I always shot raw, used low contrast settings and liked a muted colour range.
I know not everyone likes the same thing.
once I am out and about again, I will take some side by side shots, using an old samsung s9, pixel 3a xl, iphone 12 pro max, moto g10 (I downgraded to this for work) as battery was more important than flashy performance , and it is so low end no one would think of nabbing it.....easily 3 days usage for work based stuff.
And unfortunately the A52 5g has a waiting list for my location and network, so it's a s21 (non ultra) or the s20 FE, or wait until s21 FE

Anonymous, 04 Jul 2021Actually you didn't say it like that at all, you jumpe... moreThe Samsung A70, A71 don't have OIS and the details at 100% using the default Samsung camera app, while acceptable at daylight, is poor in lower light conditions, unless you use GCam's Night Sight. The A52 5G is vastly better at detail retention at 100% and better at sharpness too, with the default Samsung camera app. At night or in dim lighting, because of OIS, the default camera app result is remarkably better on the A52 than the A70/A71. But when you use GCam with night Sight, you will see it performs much better than iPhone 12 Pro Max. How did I know? Had side by side comparison with a friend's iPhone 12 Pro Max and my A52 5G shooting a dim room with lights turned off. The iphone's night mode just doesn't stand a chance with the A52 5G's ouput! And at 1/4 the price! Had to compare them in my 4K UHD monitor to see the difference GCam makes. The default Samsung camera app while producing good night mode photos, can't quite reproduce the same level of detail and low noise reproduction at dim lighting than the GCam.
