Anonymous, 05 Mar 2022You could probably whitelist the IMEI for a fee. Outstanding post. This phone will work on TMobile and Mint Mobile. For how long, who knows. I had to switch from AT&T cuz it's no longer compatible. AT&T and eventually all US carriers are cancelling out phones that haven't been bought in their stores. Usually at a heavily marked up price. It's basically eliminating all unlocked international phones. A monopoly. How un-American. So no more Xiaomi, Oppo, Realme, etc... It's crazy. Hopefully enough consumers will complain and things will change.

After confirming with Verizon that the phone would work with their network, I purchased it from Wireless Place and used the A52s 5G for 3 months on Verizon Wireless in the US. Without notice or explanation, the phone was removed (de-registered) from the network. Failing to get satisfaction with Verizon, I submitted a complaint online with the FCC with my written record of a chat with Verizon stating the phones compatibility with their network. It was resolved by providing me with the S21 FE 5G for no cost. Note: They tried to have me pay the sales tax, but I convinced them to pay it themselves. I don't blame Wireless Place and have notified them, but they don't respond. This posting is for informational purposes to other potential phone users.
I don't know the re-sale value of the phone, since it will probably not work with any US wireless carrier. Any suggestions?

I have been using A52s for the last 5 months and the only and major drawback is the poor battery life. Apart from this the phkne is quite solid with good UI, connectivity and regular updates.

Regarding black (blocked) screen after call.
I red somewhere that enabling "keep screen on while viewing" (settings/advanced features/motions and gestures) should remedy the problem.
I've enabled it yesterday and so far the screen always turned on when moving the phone away from ear after a call.
I'll keep it like this for a week and then disable it to see if problem returns.
Also I didn't notice any increased battery drain after enabling "keep screen on while viewing".
I'm curious if this works for others.

GanyuxShenhe, 03 Mar 2022Dimmer? Where's your source that the LCD is dimmer? Th... moreGSMArena tested both phones and you're asking for source?
Maybe you're talking about the inside of Samsung phones, their motherboards look cheap and cables look fragile, but I'd rather have a phone from BBK Electronics than Xiaomi if we gonna talk about, how premium phones look on the inside.
XDA developers, you think 90% of consumers care about all this stuff, I read their articles and soft modifications but I don't bother with root, custom ROMs etc anymore.
Oh, and the Poco X3 Pro doesn't have 5G, forgot to mention that.
Again, if a Galaxy S6 and A5 (2016) can last 5 years+, why wouldn't a Galaxy A52s last the same time?I think you want to keep your phone for 10 years.
Most of the time, a phone display, glass back will get broken before a motherboard dies.
And, I already mentioned what's better on the Galaxy A52s, not gonna repeat myself, you're just a consumer who likes to play games on their phone and go to XDA developers for third party development, not everybody is like you, the world doesn't revolve around you.

No matter what you say, there is nothing a manufacturer can do once the phone's is out in the wild. They might be able to patch software and security for 4 years and that's fine. What's not fine is they will never be able to patch crappy hardware of the A52s unless they release a new phone.
The Poco X3 Pro has superior hardware that can last for many years and it also has excellent support from third-party developers it's essentially the preferred device of many tech enthusiast (XDA) willing to tinker their phone.
The A52s has crappy hardware and they're selling it for around $300-$400 while the Poco X3 Pro you can get for as low as $200.
"You can't patch crappy hardware."

I am on the latest patch and Android 12 and didn't see any issues with screen, battery or delays. Usually the battery lasts ~1 day (or more) with regular chatting, browsing, and listening to music in background (2-3h), 2 sims and data always on. Charged it at 19:00 and still got 40% by 13:00 next day. During night I lost 6% battery. Screen is set to 120Hz, but got always-on functionality disabled and also do not have other custom themes installed (except wallpaper). I have the 8GB/256GB model.

GanyuxShenhe, 01 Mar 2022Still can't believe that this $400 phone is weaker tha... moreYou're probably a gamer, that's why you ignore the dimmer, LCD display of the Poco X3 Pro, inferior IP rating, inferior camera sensor with no OIS, inferior ultra wide angle sensor, same goes for the selfie camera, which records in 1080p, lack of Wi-Fi 6, you already mentioned the software support, good.
The SD 778 isn't even that bad, it's slightly less powerful than the SD 855/860 on GPU side, but CPU, efficiency is better on SD 778G, it also has VRS, LPDDR5 RAM, and triple ISP, but you're acting like the Poco X3 Pro has a SD 888 or SD 8 Gen 1 and not everybody use their phones like you.
Some people have been using their Galaxy S6 and A5(2016) with Exynos for more than 5 years and a 6 nm SD 778G with Cortex-A78 CPU cores won't last for years?

One month or so ago my update to android 12 (OneUI4) went smooth. Battery life was just as good and everything worked fine. Then about two weeks ago the phone started using battery really hard. It went down about 4% per hour even over night. I tried removing some apps, disabling location, bluetooth... nothing seemed to make any difference until I did factory reset about a week ago. That did the trick and the phone is back to average of 1% per hour batter use and I hope it stays that way.
One thing did get worse after 12 update. If before screen sometimes remained black after a call ended it now remains black almost every time :(
