But none of the features you mentioned will be of concern by a normal user.
8 out of 10 apps (that support in my S20 FE 5G, A52s 5G and A70) are being supported, working and being updated in my old Samsung A9 pro 2016 (android 8.0 now).
But only few apps are being updated, supported in my old Samsung Note 4 SM-910G model (android 6.0.1).

nicodomsam, 18 Mar 2024I think now the A55 looks like the real successor of A52s.... moreTo me, everything in the A55, except its 6.7 inch slab sized display and lack of SD processor (got so used up with A52s) is good enough upgrade. But I would wait another 2 years or even more, for an upgrade that truly make a difference in actual usage experience and not just in few benchmark scores here and there. Android 14 in the A52s will be more than enough to support all types of Apps for at-least 5 years. So nothing there to worry, if no further Android upgrade availability.

If you see like that, you cannot buy any phone. I liked the features of the S20 FE 5G and bought a second handset of that model as refurbished from the amazon India website on Dec 2023 (activated on Nov 2022). It is working fine and did not have any signs of wear / damage. I never bother about the senseless OS upgrade cycle character of others before buying the second S20 FE 5G.
The only concern is whether the Samsung India will provide jio VoNR update for the S20 FE 5G or not.
Can you prove that a normal user can really feel the difference in using the A52s 5G, A54 and A55?. Just because the A55 has a bigger display, is it really superior than the previous models?. Even the LED tv in your house will be bigger than your phone. Does it mean that your phone is a waste model?. Answer to the point.

Do not do fast charging. Charge at 500 to 700 mAh itself.

A55 UFS storage rating is the 3.1 , improved from A52s older 2.1 UFS spec.. This is key for RAMPlus, as well as fast data access. A55 do offer a 12GB RAM if opted with the 256GB storage. So It may be a very good gaming phone and very comparable to Qualcom SD 7 Plus Gen2.

Also both of these not available for US market purchase. There seem to be a pattern eh- I noticed these models are 'extraordinary' models that separate them from the other A5x series..
The obvious negative about the A55 - it is overprice. its competing with S23 FE, which is why it not offer for US market. and also no 3.5 audio port for wired headset.

My a52s 5g is heating alot when opening even the settings app it started from the android 14 update i opened gpu watch and the cpu graph and the gpu one were high i dont have alot of apps installed

Received yesterday OS patch update - Feb.1,2024 security patch level. size=303 MB.
It seems to be coming in every 6-7 weeks, not the announced monthly releases.

Just remember you will lose Samsung built-in features as well break some functions like wifi calling if you install custom roms. They needed to be reversed engineered but no one has the time to do that.

What would you replace it with if y... moreConsidering my limited budget, I would get myself a used zenfone 9, or maybe a zenfone 10 if I can't find a good deal on the used market. Another (heavility subjective) gripe that i forgot to add is that the a52s is not really suitable for one handed use since it's quite big. I actually daily driven a pixel 3 before I use the a52s, and I miss the handling comfort

But A52s stayed King for the past 2.5 years that is what made it special. People started forgetting the A53 but A52s continue to live in its users heart...

If one is really desperate for an upgrade, then look for the current gen Galaxy S series phones, if you have the budget.
