AutoFocus, 15 Apr 2023Exynos is a born failed chip brand there is no need to be e... moreThe reason why people buy the A54 in 2023 is bcs they want a samsung midrange smartphone and A52s is not even exist in the retail. Yes, i agree that SD 778G maybe slightly better even for nowadays. But believe me people buy a phone because it need for its purpose as a phone, not only for the raw performance. And a54 perfectly fulfill that. Sometimes people see samsung phone for its reliability too. I still using galaxy a8 (2018) with its ancient exynos 7885 and still works perfectly fine.

can we all just shut up and continue with our day for god's sake this arguement has been going on for almost more than a week now

AutoFocus, 15 Apr 2023Exynos is a born failed chip brand there is no need to be e... moreYou and the other doofus arguing for countless pages here are driving me and probably a lot of other people nuts. Just shut up...nobody cares about the history of chips or what versions were good or bad or beating this or beating that.
People want to know how the device in THIS page works. People want to know what issues the fresh owners have experienced(if at all) and how they attempted and succeeded/failed to solve them.
People want to know about battery life from different usage scenarios, about call quality, display quality, the infamous Virtual Proximity System(if it's improved or still bad).
We come here for hard data and personal experience.
With how the phone market works...with the phone being a global product and as such having countless different prices, carrier discounts, trade-ins etc...anyone can judge its value afterwards and eventually point out a good deal in their area.

You two bring nothing to the discussion, and I honestly don't understand why mods haven't banned you both yet.
You keep arguing the chipset's power(and BS benchmark scores) like it's the be all end all in terms of a phone's value...while disregarding every other aspect like the display, the size, the software experience, the call quality, the cameras, audio...should I go on.

Now, before you say, "Well what are you helping with?", I've put an order in at my carrier. They were already out of stock as I was waiting to get more info from reviews...but seeing as most "reviewers" just blurt specs and barely do any relevant tests, I gambled on it as spec wise it fits my needs and the carrier offer is good. The model is SM-A546B. I haven't been given an ETA, as it is Easter time. I assume I'll get it sometime this week (Thursday, Friday) at best or next week at the worst.
Until then, if you have questions regarding different aspects of it(even obscure ones), quote this post and ask. I'll try to dig into as much detail as I am able once I have it in hand and respond while being as thorough as I can.

AutoFocus, 15 Apr 2023Exynos is a born failed chip brand there is no need to be e... moreRight now I have a DooGee 2 year old phone. Simple question: Which is better. The DooGee, or the A54?

Sam799, 15 Apr 2023I think we have had a long discussion on Exynos vs snapdrag... moreMy theory is that exynos works for most people for example for 97/100 works perfectly fine but those 3 will complain all over the internet and that's how non exynos users will adapt the same opinion (such as myself, but again i used exynos back in 2016/2017 with 0 issues), as i read A54 has no issues except gaming.

TechGeek132, 15 Apr 2023Exynos wasn't a born failed chip brand. You are insult... moreExynos is a born failed chip brand there is no need to be emotional in accepting a fact. I started using smartphone somewhere in 2012 and Exynos was and now always surrounded with issues ranging from efficiency, bugs and performance. I don't know why some people emotionaly defends a junk chip brand. There are better chip brands. As long as there are better alternatives, one shouldn't settle for an inferior a compromise. Samsung is not offering you cheaper price for their Exynos powered A54 that hardly matches a 2 year old SD 778G powered phones either. Do they ? Then what reason is there to buy an A54 in 2023 is a question remains.

Yes in some regions Samsung only releases the Exynos variant to maximize their profit margin and if you only buy a Samsung phone then there is obviously no choice, that doesn't imply Exynos suddenly became good for you and only that you bought something of the lowest in the hierarchy is an undeniable fact.

In the early and mid 2010s, Exynos was better than Snapdragon for the most part. Have you forgotten?

How could you say Exynos was "born failed chip brand" ?

I think we have had a long discussion on Exynos vs snapdragon here for God's sake!! For me I own the S21 Ultra EXYNOS VERSION yes you guys heard it right and I've no issues with it whatsoever! I bought it cause it was the only option in my region and I love it as it gives me over 7 hours if SoT with over a day of battery life no overheating either. I am not against snapdragon version as I'm not a hater just sharing my experience here. By the way I'm gonna get the A54 for my nephew so buy whatever suits your need. I think we all are matured enough to choose what is best and value for our hard earned money. Peace!!

Got this 3 days ago. This is the best phone that I have ever owned. This is the "E" version with dual sim.

                      - So far I got 5-6 hours SOT with the Always on display turned on.
                      - The cameras are good (but the ultrawide suffers in low light).
                      - The bezels aren't as big of a deal as you nerds make it out to be
                      - Exynos runs pretty cool as long as you don't play games
                      - don't expect good gaming performance

The only soc vendor that make even worse chip perhaps the Unisoc. But they are steadily improving along with their increasing market share. Exynos on the other hand was a born failed chip brand that always trailed Snapdragons and now even trails Dimensitys too.

For example what is to boast in Exynos 1380 in the A54 when it hardly matches the 2 year old SD 778G powered phones and still it costs the same or more than SD 778G phones. If A54 was powered by an Snapdragon 7 gen 1 at least or a current generation Dimensity, A54 would have been a much better phone in terms of performance, efficiency and chipset related features.

Even Samsung is not confident with their Exynos hence they dropped Exynos altogether from Galaxy S23 😅

Oh and about the chipset, Exynos is really great, and in its absence, MediaTek Dimensity 1100 and above is good. Qualcomm is just a name at this price and it is better to say goodbye to weak and old heaters.

However yes in many cases you can keep your phone for 2 or even 3 generation. For example if you have a A53 keep it and buy A55 or A56 to can see big changes.
