Ans: Samsung has the option to use superior TSMC fab for fabricating their chips. This was what done by Qualcomm when they burnt their fingers with SD 8 Gen 1 fabricated on Samsung fabs. Since Samsung as no competing option for the SD 8 Gen 2 and later, and after the disaster debacle with Exynos 2200 in the S22, they stopped high end Exynos development for a while and they are rumored to build Exynos from the beginning in an attempt to compete with Qualcomm in the high end. In the meantime they are forced to depend on Snapdragon for their high end. There won't any Exynos for the S24 as well as Samsung is confirmed to be working with Qualcomm for a customized SD 8 Gen 3 variant for it.

Idk about low end but I believe ya'll it's not too good, especially with lower memory configurations of such phones. Midrange and high end is at least good enough to be worth or better. After all, it's easy to refuse upgrade but the option must be there first.

AnonD-1090716, 31 Mar 2023Actually your tests aren't valid.
https://youtu.be/kT... moreOf coerce it is valid as it is scientific not some random youtuber sponsored by Samsung
The following review was conducted professionally and scientifically were both SD and Exynos variants of the Galaxy S22, battery endurance can be called on par even though SD variant ultimately won with a small margin.
https://youtu.be/5z8sOMOfrfA?t=269
Also, if you compare Galaxy S22 Snapdragon vs Exynos 2200 in the Performance tests things gets exciting, Snapdragon variant can be seen clearly performing superior.
https://youtu.be/5z8sOMOfrfA?t=53
Exynos always worst among other options. A54 situation is kind of even worse, as it can only barely compete with a 2021 SD 778G in the CPU side of things. In GPU, ISPs, AI and all those components inside the SOC, 2021 SD 778G still superior.

Yes they get slower after updates but it's still very good. There are occasional lags in lower range phones but that's it, still a good experience

Exynos is always the best in most situations when is properly optimized.
The ISP on the Exynos 1380 is superior, the GPU is similar.
The Qualcomm 778G isn't superior anymore.

Exynos 2200 still have better efficiency.

In performance Exynos is better overall.
Your last video isn't accurate since the Exynos 2200 wasn't optimized for mast apps at that time.

But even the Note 20U Exynos beats the iPhone 13 pro max, lmao and is an speed test.
So Qualcomm is worse.

If Exynos was a big thing and not a failure Samsung wouldn't have dropped Exynos from their newest S23 and used Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 instead."
Many people if not the most have that have the S22 Exynos variants don't complain about it. Check the S22 Qualcomm forums, a lot of people complain even more with the issues of the Qualcomm variants, because is worse.
Exynos 2200 leaved in the dust Qualcomm 8 gen 2 in Ray Tracing performance, so isn't failure. Exynos 2400 could come back in the next S24 series.
And Samsung plans of stop producing chipsets for the high-end doesn't seems to stop making Exynos chipsets.
If Samsung couldn't put the Exynos 2300 was because they decided to renew their process node and make refinements about it to have better node quality for its Exynos chipsets.
Samsung couldn't supply the S23 series with Exynos because of that and decided to make a contract with Qualcomm to make a special chipset for Galaxy, to compensate the missing Exynos variant. Doesn't mean won't be Exynos chipsets in the future.
