Marcos Goncalves, 30 Aug 2023 Real use over benchmarks. For huge power, S21 FE is better... moretrue, but me I love the design, feel, and weight of 21FE whereas I really dislike the feel of the weighty bezely fragile A54. but battery life of 21FE is significantly weaker.

it's always a comprise in the end

my best bet, try yourself... I don't beleive much into benchmarks and reviewers anymore.

I Trade my Z Flip 4, far better than S21, for a A54. And didn't make difference for my use. Of course, Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 is the second best Android SOC and far better than Exynos 1380, but for my use, both chipsets works very well.

Marcos Goncalves, 30 Aug 2023 Real use over benchmarks. For huge power, S21 FE is better... moreIt's not about light usage vs heavy usage, you're going to feel the difference between the Exynos 1380 and the Eynos 2100 / Snapdragon 888, regardless of how heavy a user you are.

Every single app except the system contacts app, calendar app, phone app etc. opens noticeably slower and has stutters on the A54 because its performance sits in between the Dmensity 1080 and the Snapdragon 778G. Basically, it is an equivalent to upper-midrangers from two years ago in performance (Xiaomi 11 5G NE and Mi 11 Lite 5G, Galaxy A52s, Huawei Nova 9, Redmi Note 11 Pro+ 5G, Honor 50 etc).

The Exynos 2100 and Snapdragon 888 are flagship chips from two years ago. There is a huge difference in the speed and fluidity of flagship and midrange chips from the same year and that's a feeling that you can only experience if you're actually using a phone with a flagship chipset.

OpposedScroll75, 30 Aug 2023The A54 is a minimum 20% slower and a maximum 35% slower in... more Real use over benchmarks. For huge power, S21 FE is better, but in real use, if you don't need to do heavy tasks, the A54 is better.

In June, Samsung made a promotion to "burn" all the stock of the S21 FE. They sell the 8gb/256gb plus Buds 2 Live for almost the same price of the A54 and a lot of people (mostly youtubers), told that was a great smartphone, better than the last version 6gb/256gb.
After 2 months, the same people are complaining that about lagging, power drop, problem with Dex and they conclude that the A54 is a better choice. Cameras is not so different, design is a personal choice, features either, but A54 is more stable, weaker, but stable.

Grumpy, 30 Aug 2023I got an iphone 11 64 gb now in my country we have a Trade ... moreIf you don't need anything that only have in IOS, the A54 is far better than the Iphone 11.

you have to suffer, 29 Aug 2023if it degrades, you would have to hook your phone with a po... moreIn my own experience, a 1 and a half year old 4250mAh battery from my Xiaomi phone (11 Lite 5G NE) still manages to give me 6-7 hours of SOT with my average daily usage (a mix of gaming, web browsing and social media). Also keep in mind that the S21 FE is was made later than the Xiaomi 11 Lite 5G NE, so the cell inside is younger, too.

Surely a 4500mAh cell should be able to give, at the very least, the same amount of SOT with the same kind of usage, unless OneUI's battery management is absolute dogwater.

leghne, 28 Aug 2023S21 FE looks like a cheap phone, has weak battery, worst Sn... moreThe A54 is a minimum 20% slower and a maximum 35% slower in Antutu v9 (Depending on the Exynos or the SD variant of the FE), it has worse cameras, a weaker plastic frame instead of the more durable Aluminium frame, Gorilla Glass 5 instead of Gorilla Glass Victus, much more bezel, it has USB 2.0 instead of USB 3.1 etc. The A54's only advantage is in battery life.

Also the FE is straight up cheaper where I live, going for 400 Euros at most while the A54 sits at 500 Euros.

At the end of the day, it's your own pick. An objectively better phone that's older or a worse phone that's newer.

Heyy, i'm searching for a new phone to replace my Xiaomi Redmi note 5, bought in 2019 and released in 2018, so i've been using it for awhile and it only started lagging this year, overheating etc

I've been interested in samsung a54 since it has good reviews and battery, also micro sd slot but people are talking about the processor being bad. I'm not a gamer, i only use my phone heavily and i want take great pictures and open apps without it lagging randomly.
Also i'd like the battery to last at least a whole day!

The phone is at 444€ at a store here in France, there's also the s21fe but the 6gb version and i've heard that phone has terrible battery and reviews.

to all the users who actually are USING the phone, would you recommend it to me? any other options? budget can't go up 530€

The A54 is a newer phone and has a better battery and look at the features on the phone. I have it so I know.
