xconnex98, 14 Aug 2024if you can buy s24u, why even bother to think about a55I'm guessing he thinks about getting a better deal. You feel good if you're getting more than you paid for. However, it is not the case with phones, most of the time. There's a reason you're paying less for an A55 vs. a S24U. Now, of course, it depends on your needs and how much are you willing to accept some compromises. You see, the A55 is not that great when it comes to performance: it will stutter and lag from time to time and for very short periods. If you can live with that, hurray! If not... well, you need to look elsewhere. Also, screen is considerably better on S24U: not all AMOLEDs are the same. Not to mention cameras, charging, biometrics, some software features (DeX, Expert RAW). It's very difficult to consolidate the differences into actual value. Maybe someone can't live without DeX or the better zoom to spy on the hot babe at 10th floor who likes to undress with lights on (creepy). But I guess that's why these things exist: some people want them and are willing to pay for them.

Kurrt, 14 Aug 2024Shopping for a new phone, its gotten so confusing. I was lo... moreWhen it comes to COD a pocket calculator can run this game so don't worry, even phones marketed as entry-level phones can run this game well, let alone true mid-range phones.
If you want a phone that'll serve you ten more years, this phone and Samsung phones in general aren't recommended. Exynos chips in particular and chips manufactured by Samsung in general get very hot, especially in the summer while using heavy tasks such as gaming. The hotter a phone gets, the shorter its lifespan. Apart from that, today Samsung is a company that chases every jeon and such a company is looking to save on the expense of its customers, therefore the Galaxy phones are produced cheaply which further shortens their lifespan.
Want to simplify your search for a new phone? This is what you need to do - Watch this video and follow the relevant instructions in it: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=JutLITgxGj4&pp=ygUZSG93IHRvIGNob29zZSBzbWFydHBob25lcw%3D%3D
Once you have selected a phone from the list, type in Google nanoreview+*the name of the phone you selected*. The link will take you the phone's page on nanoreview.net website. Go down the page until you reach SoC, where it'll be written what type of chip is in the phone and who's the manufacturer of that chip. If the chip is called Snapdragon and the manufacturer is TSMC then the it's a good chip.
In order to make sure that the phone you have chosen in general is a good phone, search this site for the name of the phone, go to the phone's page and read the users' opinions about it(read a lot of opinions). People won't complain much about a good phone. Good luck.

You must own several spare batteries and treated your phone incredibly well to achieve such feat, considering most apps no longer work with Android 7 and below, and it only has 32GB of storage.

Shopping for a new phone, its gotten so confusing. I was looking for one that lets me play COD and similar at high fps, has esim capability, preferably with fm and offers os upgrades. I see most brands now stopped including earphones in the box, so thats something to look out for. This seems to get the closest. Its finally time to lay my Samsung Note 4 to rest after 10 years of faithful service. Sadly, its no longer exchangeable as no seller is willing to accept it on exchange. Will look a bit further before I decide to settle for this.

I wouldn't mind the bezels if they were the same size and symmetry as the iPhone 15 Plus.

At least the bottom chin is a lot thinner than the A25, that thing is just horrific to look at.

BlahBlah, 12 Aug 2024Yeah, but there is a difference in "designed in...&quo... moreIt's easy to get swayed by other brands like Xiaomi and Nothing when they can offer better hardware for bargain prices, but there's always the classic saying that you can't simply judge anything based on whatever's written on paper. In other words, better hardware does not always equal a better phone.

There's other things you should consider when you buy a phone, like user experience, software stability, update span, reliability, customer service, etc.

I've been a Samsung user for 12 years. Couple of weeks ago, my A7 2018 broke, so I bought the A55 and I'm really loving it, despite its average hardware compared to the likes of the competition. It's a great phone with no pointless gimmicks, excellent build quality, stable software with no intrusive ads, long update span, decent cameras, and decent battery life. The micro SD slot is also a nice bonus that's sadly missing on more expensive Samsungs.

People can make fun of the thick bezels, 25W charging, Exynos processor, and lack of headphone jack all they want. Let's just all get along and respect each other's preferences, shall we? There's no need to show off how much better your phone's specs are, just like people who like showing off their iPhones simply for the sake of them owning an iPhone.

I live on Balkans in Europe and i was amazed how affordable phones from China are. We start buying first Xiaomi's then some other brands and they all got one thing im common. They were super cheap with their offerings in contrast to Samsung, Motorola, Nokia, Sony or any other non-Chinese brands, but we made it even cheaper because there was no official Xiaomi shop in here or in Europe, so we had to order it from a specialized site which oppened every new phone to iplement a Global ROM so it can use GOOGLE PLAY STORE, because we basicly ordered a phone which was not meant for sale globaly the price was even more affordable.

I remember Samsung Galaxy S7 and its price of a 650€ when it was brand new and Xiaomi had their Mi 5 with almost the same spacifications but selling for 200€ price. That's how they get the traction in the first place and people loved it!

I personally had a few Chinese brand phones so far and my experience with them is a mixed bag. More often then not i would be happier with some non-Chinese brand if i was looking for a longer term use.

The only Chinese phone that is still working as ittended and almost as it was like new ... except the battery life of course is OnePlus 7 Pro. All other phones i had like Xiaomi Mi 8, Redmi Note 8 Pro, Xiaomi Mi 9T and OnePlus 5 all let me down with something more often then not was a software issue but i don't know im not a super techy guy. But i must say, OnePlus 7 is still my favorite touch screen smartphone I have ever use. Almost perfect in every way except camera results which were lagging but if you wanted a reliable, powerfull phone without too many compromises for the price it was hard to overlook the OnePlus 7 Pro. With 8 Pro they changed the philosophy of "flagship killer" and with that move i was never seriously looking at OnePlus again. Now, Nothing is what interest me the most from all Chinese brands. My wife has Nothing Phone 2 and it's a very solid phone for the price if you ask me.

In short, i only have a trust in higher tier OnePlus and maybe Nothing from Chinese brands as some of them like Redmi, Poco, Xiaomi lost my trust a long time ago, but i still reccomend it for a budget consious buyers who for example wants to extract as many preformance per buck from a phone without braking the bank account and and in that field all Chinese brands are hard to beat especially Poco. But for me nah. I gave up on them a couple of years ago. For example, i don't play games on a phone, i just need it to be reliable in a longer use like 3-4 years at minimum. Performance per buck On Chinese brands is very tempting and can't be easily ignored.

I've just bought new A55 for my wife, before she was using A71 for many years. It was lovely phone, slim, great camera, lots of gadgets. But it got old. So I've taken the best A series on the market. And I received a big brick taking sad photos. Both - front and back camera take washed out, colour less photos. They look like from album from 80'. No life, not vibrant colours. And I can't change that with any filter or pro settings. It kind of looks like the white balance is off but manual setting help only a little. The warm filter helps more, but colours are still not right. Does anyone has this kind of issue and if there's any solution for it ?

Chinese manufacturers gave Samsung and Apple a big competitive boost, but even without that Samsung's and Apple's high-end phone prices were what they are now - big, if did not became actualy more bigger. I only agree with the fact that the Chinese manufacturers just forced to made middle class which is now in Apple's and Samsung's segment. In other words, if it weren't for Chinese manufacturers, Samsung and Apple might not have continued to create such a mid-range products which is now. A class some models is comparing with some high end models by some experts. I think the Chinese manufacturers have not lowered the price, they are already raising it themselves. For price, i think, Chinese manufacturers did not did any bigger effect.

And it certainly hurts when I suffered for this A55 at the very beginning for 128/8 Gb, 400 euros for which after only 3~4 months it drop to 300 euros, I'm not even a fan of Samsung, but I had to buy it for my child, who did not accept the other brands, I personally have been using Honor for 5.5 years, it is a battle tank that is much better than the other 3 Samsung phones I bought for my child, and their power buttons fall off, the battery life is short, etc, I hope this A55 will lasts longer , cheers.
