- Better cameras

Bottom line, pick the A55 if you want a more well-rounded phone for everyday needs. Pick the Pixel 8a if you like compact phones, stock Android, and photography.

When we talking about any device we have to know what you will do with it. For some people is important processor, for others camera, somebody like to have good design device. So would be much more easier to say something if you will share why you looking phone for? If we compare Samsung A55 and Google's Pixel A8, by specifications i can see that Google pixel A8 giving more major updates. I think it's important, also Google is owner and creator Android OS, so you know that always you will get clean devices without any Samsung, Xiaomi or any others apps. Soem people like to get clean devices, for me it's not important. I know how to uninstall these apps and some of them from Samsung i like. So i choosing Samsung. But Pixel A8 have some good things too: as i mentioned 7 years updates is big reason to choose Pixel 8A, also brightness of screen in Pixel A8 is awesome - 2000 nits, when Samsung A55 have only 1000 nits. I have Samsung A55 and i know it's enough for many things, but when i played Call Of Duty Mobile at summer in very shining day (30+ degrees and more) in darker building (in the game building, not mine) to see something was a little bit harder. But not bad, i saw everything what i had to see, but was some challengers. So 2000 nits i think is much more better in Pixel 8A neither 1000 nits in Samsung A55. By GSM Arena's tests i can see that processor in Google Pixel 8A is better, so have to be faster and powerful compare with Samsung A55. And by specifications i see that probably that's all. All others is better in Samsung A55: faster charging (25 watt, in Google device only 18), battery capacity 5000 mAh againts 4492 mAh in Google Pixel 8A. Also Gorilla Victum+ in Samsung protection, against in Google Pixel 8A only is Gorilla 3 version. Display also probably will be better in Samsung A55. Samsung making it, so i don't think that will be worse compare with Google Oled. Oled in some way is better, but Samsung Amoled sometime looks much more better as Oled in some competitor devices. This is just my opinion, but i trust in Samsung display. Samsung A55 have memory card, so extra memory is always good idea. If say honest i buy Samsung A55 for this reason. I don't care faster processor, it's enough fast and good in Samsung A55, also this model have faster charging, to me memory card is like red alert reason to buy Samsung A55. Memory card is good to safe your photos, some others files when devices going down and breaking. From phone memory you can't take all these photos, from memory card you can take it always. And it doesn't matter device is broken or not. If say honest i'm Samsung users from 2019 and a lot of devices i buying from Samsung. All devices working with each other without practicaly any problems. It's called in english eco system, right? But Pixel 8A can offer good things too. So if you don't care a little bit faster charging, memory card or a little bit bigger battery, newer protection of screen (display) you can buy Google Pixel 8A. I heard Pixel phones is good too. But if you like me like full packages of features, you don't care 3 extra major updates, processor you can buy Samsung A55. I would buy Samsung. I did that in 2019 when i choice between Xiaomi model and Samsung A70. memory card for me is like water for human :) Camera i did not tested. I do not have chance to check in Pixel's 8A. But in Samsung A55 is not bad, but S23 Ultra really really have better camera. Of course S23 Ultra is flagship and cost much more. When Samsung A55 is named as premium mid-range model. Also simple advice is if you have more devices like smartwatch, buy phone by that device manufacturer. For example if you have Pixel watch - choose Pixel 8A if you have Samsung watch - choose Samsung phone. Do not mix up these things. Will be problems much more less.

Motorola have better: IP68 dust/water resistant (up to 1.5m for 30 min), 68W wired charging, 144Hz (INT), 1600 nits (peak), but Samsung A55 have better: Glass front (Gorilla Glass Victus+), glass back (Gorilla Glass), aluminum frame, 4 major Android upgrades, Exynos 1480 (4 nm) (by GMS arena test Exynos have better result against Motorola Snapdragon), microSDXC (uses shared SIM slot), some AI features.

hi, 25 Oct 2024do you update to android 15?There is no any even beta version of Android 15 or One UI 7 for Samsung devices like Samsung A55. Only next year you can hope for stable version for Samsung A55. Right now wis released only monthly security update.

Anonymous, 24 Oct 2024Currently I can get the A55 8+256 for 300$ and S24 FE for 5... moreYes to wait for Samsung A56 is good decision too, but keep in mind that then Samsung A56 cost more as 400 or maybe 500 euros, also S24 FE would do not drop price a lot of, i guess, (i mean about 2025 march) also Samsung A56 probably will be in some kind better as S24 FE. I like my Samsung A55, but if you don't care right now to buy new phone and you can wait a little bit maybe it's the best what you can do. But A55 for 300 euros is good price, my opinion. S24 FE for 520 is not cosmos price too. But A56 probably can bring you more things liek OS longer time (A55 will get only 4 OS updates and 5 years security), S24 bringing 7 years updates, who knows what Samsung will do with A56.

Most people saying that A55 have amazing battery. With full usage (games a little bit (some hours), internet, bluetooth always enabled, gps always enabled, 5G all the time and ect. 1 day, so if you letting sometime phone to relax i'm think can be more time for you. It's depend every people. For me when i using it all the time is good result i think. Samsung confirmed too that it's normal usage.

Software support is top notch compared to xiaomi(longer, more frequent and more stable).
And last but not least most people won't change to another brand because they are used to use existing manufacturer software. So if a person uses samsung and wants another phone It's highly likely they will choose same brand phone but newer.

Why Galaxy A5x Series is popular on gsmarena lmao, I understand a just good specifications, but at this price are better phones like (Motorola Edge 50 neo, Xiaomi Redmi Note 13 Pro+, Poco F6, Oneplus Nord 4) or wait.. I forgot that 60% of users there are samsung fanboys xD
