r.why.me, 13 Mar 2025I feel you. The A36 is something I was looking forward to, ... moreMy experience :
Only the exynos chip in the Samsung Note 2 was a disaster. It only lasted 20 to 24 hours in 2G mode with all radios (except mobile network) in the off condition. It was a battery sucker. Then A54 and A55 are my 2nd and 3rd phones with the exynos chip.

Note 4 (became slow now) : last phone in th... moreI feel you. The A36 is something I was looking forward to, but it turned out to be disappointing in some key areas.
Where I live, the A55 is currently available for roughly the same price as the A36 for the very same memory/storage configurations. And for that you get many advantages over the A36. Those include a more capable CPU, UFS 3.1, better battery life than A36, e-sim support, and memory card support.
The only thing holding me back is the signal reception strength of the A55's Exynos modem. I use hotspot a lot these days when out and about on work. I have heard some complaints in this regard, as well as praise. So I am confused.
I am wary because I have actually suffered with signal reception issues on my old Galaxy A51 (Exynos 9611) while my wife has had no issues at all with her Galaxy A71 (Snapdragon 730) on the very same service provider and in the very same location.
For certain reasons, I will not be getting a separate mobile hotspot device or something. That is out of the question for now. I just have to decide whether to get the A36 and sacrifice memory card support and fast internal storage in favour of the good reception of the Qualcomm X62 modem; or get the A55 and compromise on signal strength in favour of superior CPU performance, battery life, and better/faster storage support.

Buying multiple Samsung A55 units in 2027 will be a smart investment. The price will be extremely low, and it will free us from the cycle of spending on new phones for years to come. Interestingly, Samsung seems to have anticipated this by not launching the A55 in the U.S.

Benefits of Owning Multiple A55 Units
Dedicated Devices for Different Purposes: You can separate your phones based on their function—one for work, one for family, one for gaming, one for digital banking, and another for social media. This kind of organization makes life easier, as it helps you stay focused and manage priorities more effectively.
No More Worrying About Phone Upgrades: Once you have multiple devices serving different needs, you won’t have to think about phone specs or upgrading every year. The endless cycle of buying new phones with marginal improvements becomes irrelevant.
A Shift in Mindset: Instead of fixating on the latest phone releases, you can focus on more meaningful aspects of life. At the end of the day, a phone is just a tool—no different from a laptop. It should serve its purpose without dictating your spending habits.
This approach is not just cost-effective but also a practical way to simplify life.
We are truly grateful to the developers for providing us with the convenience of custom ROM for Samsung A55, making our lives so much easier. With this, the endless debate over smartphones comes to an end, allowing us to move forward and enjoy a more peaceful, stress-free life.

Zhang Yi, 11 Mar 2025Samsung has been deceiving customers outside of Korea while... moreIt’s amusing that the A55 only received the beta version of One UI 7.0 after its last update. By 2027, I plan to stock up on refurbished A55 (8GB/256GB) units because, by then, the Exynos 1480 and 8GB of RAM The price is very cheap and can add 1TB of storage, but After a few years will have degraded to entry-level performance. I’ve learned from experience that as apps become more resource-intensive, phone performance naturally declines.
To counter this, I’ll install a lightweight Google Experience ROM with long-term updates that aren’t artificially limited. With proper care and light usage, the A55 could last anywhere from 8 to 16 years. Of course, this won’t be my primary phone. Once Samsung releases the flagship S3X with 6G connectivity, that will be my main device. But having a reliable secondary phone is the most cost-effective strategy, especially when most people replace their phones yearly.
At the end of the day, what we truly need is the technology and features, not just a new phone for the sake of it. If a device already meets all our needs, why waste money on an overpriced upgrade that offers little more than what we already have?

Note 4 (became slow now) : last phone in th... moreSamsung has been deceiving customers outside of Korea while promoting One UI 7.0 as their best innovation, supposedly the result of the hard work of their development team. In reality, they’re just putting on a show, acting as if it’s difficult to develop. They’ve actually been ready to release One UI 7.0 for last year’s phones but deliberately delayed it, hoping to push people into spending their budget on slightly improved, yet overpriced, recycled versions of their latest phones.
What’s even more shocking is that, behind the scenes, they’ve been working hard to release One UI 8.0 exclusively for Korea. Meanwhile, A55 users have to wait two years just to update from One UI 6.1 to 8.0. Their goal is obvious—to make people abandon the Galaxy A55, which still has a microSD slot that supports up to 1TB of expandable storage.
Personally, I’m really satisfied with my A55 (12GB/256GB), which is on par with the Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 and scores 700K on AnTuTu.

This has become Samsung’s signature move. They deliberately design phones to feel outdated or fragile after four years. But as long as you take good care of your phone and use it normally, an 8GB model can still run comfortably until 2027, 12gb until 2029, 16gb until 2031, A phone will naturally start to break down after 6–8 bonus 9-10 years, assuming you buy the highest-tier model.
