Samsung Galaxy A55 runs Geekbench with Exynos 1480 SoC, Xclipse 530 GPU confirmed
Last week we saw a Geekbench run from the Galaxy A55's SoC, but it wasn't in the Galaxy A55 - it was using some kind of test platform. Today, that changes, as a prototype of the A55 itself has also made it onto Geekbench, and this confirms the interesting GPU choice Samsung's made.
The A55's chipset is widely believed to be marketed as Exynos 1480, following, of course, in the footsteps of the 1380 seen in the A54 and the 1280 in the A53. Unlike those, however, the new one won't use a Mali GPU, instead opting for an AMD RDNA2-based Xclipse 530 GPU, which has been confirmed by today's benchmark run.
This theoretically could even have the ability to offer raytracing in games. That doesn't mean it will, however, so don't get your hopes up too much. Still, this is likely to be a beefier GPU than what the A5x line has gotten thus far, which is a good step in the right direction. Over on the CPU side, the improvements compared to the Exynos 1380 do exist, but they aren't amazing - a single-core score of 1,127 and a multi-core score of 3,090 is what the A55 managed, whereas the A54 scores about 1,108 and 2,797, respectively.
So if you had hoped the A55 would finally be a huge leap for CPU performance in Samsung's best-selling line of smartphones, that hope needs to be postponed for another year at least.
The prototype that ran Geekbench had 8GB of RAM on board, which was the maximum amount you could get the A54 with. According to previous rumors, the Galaxy A55 will have a 6.5-inch FHD+ 120 Hz OLED screen, a 50 MP main camera, and support for 25W wired charging (with no charger in the box, of course).

I can get 8 hours of sot and 8 hours screen off time and still have more than 20% left this sot involves moderate usage and no gaming i think this is more than enough for people per today's standards of battery life

New geekbench "runs" show the multicore score at 37xx. Which seems to be a big leap compared to the 1380. Am buying this phone, when it's released especially since I have issues with me A54 right now (ghost touch, repeated touches).
