Just got my A71 Today, and by the way.. for those that are curious.. it does work with CDMA towers. I am a Total Wireless customer over 3 years now, and it uses Verizon only Towers which is CDMA only.. and I moved my Sim from my S7 into the A71 and it works perfectly fine, Calls are clear, Texting works, and Data Works.. sooo, i don't know why it's being advertised as GSM only when it does seem to work well on CDMA network.. does anyone else have any thoughts on this?

Just bought my wife this phone yesterday (the 8/128)... We are very happy with it.. and since her last phon is the galaxy J7pro, switching to the A71 was a huge step up in performance.

Anonymous, 23 Jul 2020The camera bug is probably hardware related. My A71 is the ... moreUpdate... I did the 'atomic bomb' solution, the solution of last resort (full factory reset) to try to fix the camera app problem where in the camera app crashes in PRO camera mode when you set a manual shutter speed of 1 sec or longer (1 sec, 2 sec, etc. up to 10 sec), and surprise, surprise! The problem is fixed! The OneUI 2.1 update with June 2020 security patch was a big update, so it must be an update glitch. Now if only Samsung also included manual ISO and focus in video mode or at least a focus lock and exposure lock, then video recording would have been a much more pleasant experience like having the excellent new manual settings in photo mode.

Viper, 22 Jul 2020i also didn't had camera crash and i have the June 202... moreThe camera bug is probably hardware related. My A71 is the snapdragon 730G model - 128GB Snapdragon 730G version model SM-A715F/DS. It's made in Vietnam. The camera crashes in PRO mode when I set a manual shutter speed of 1 sec or longer (2 sec, 4 sec, etc.)
I already tried clearing the camera app cache and data, uninstalling and clearing other apps from memory so that there's plenty of RAM left (force stopping some background apps), rebooting phone and giving the Samsung camera app all the permissions it needs. But still, the camera app crashes at shutter speeds 1 sec or longer in PRO mode.
Maybe the camera module installed in some A71 variants are incompatible with the long shutter feature of the app. Samsung has been known to put different components for the same phone model. (Ex. Flagship Note models based on Exynos have different camera sensors to those based on snapdragon.). Either that or there really is a batch of A71's with faulty camera hardware. I mean there were focus issues on some Samsung flagship S20 ultra models. I'm not discounting the fact that there could be similar hardware issues with some A71 models as well which Samsung does not like to admit. The last few security updates had 'camera improvements' in the update log so there may be camera issues in some A71 models/variants Samsung does not want to admit. It's weird because even a third-party camera app with camera2api enabled also doesn't offer shutter speeds of 1 sec or longer. At most, it offers 0.8sec. A factory reset is the only thing I haven't tried. I'll try it to confirm if it's just a software update glitch or if Samsung is really hiding camera hardware issues in some A71 models.

i also didn't had camera crash and i have the June 2020 security patch, i tried everything in Pro mode, also 10 sec shutter took couple of photos (also in 2, 4 secs..), never had an issue like described, isn't bad to check your applications, anyway my A71 is just 10 days old, still learning the camera, so far is superior phone

Anonymous, 22 Jul 2020I'm surprised you have no issues with longer shutter s... moreWhen in PRO camera mode and setting a 1 sec or longer shutter speed, it seems to work normally displaying the message: 'Taking picture. Hold phone steady'.
But then the photo capture abruptly ends and the camera app displays an error message: 'Warning Camera failed.' The app then closes shortly you have to launch it again to take photos.
The green thingy you see on manual focus are 'focus peaking' indicators. Yes, they're very useful tools for manual focus. More green outlines mean more objects are in focus or sharper focus. Lesser green outlines mean more out of focus objects or misfocus.

I'm experiencing consistent and repeatable crashes if shutter speed is set at 1 sec or longer (2sec, 4sec, etc.). It must be a camera software bug. But it seems weird if you and other owners here did not experience the same bug in your A71 unit even if you set a 1 sec or longer shutter speed in 'PRO' camera mode. At least there's another A71 owner here who experience the same problem. The weird thing though is that it's 2 sec and up for that other user while it's 1 sec and up in my unit. I'm still troubleshooting which app permissions and app settings or even phone settings could have triggered it consistently.
