Anonymous, 06 Jul 2020Same with the S10 Lite and other phones with Samsung panels... moreMy unit doesn't have issue like yours, if it is really due to software update that cause the screen issue, surely all the A71 will have the same issue, clearly this only happened to your unit.

Anonymous, 06 Jul 2020Screen faulty , go to service center they will change it free .I agree. Better have the unit replaced while it's with you for three days only. Most money-back guarantees or replacements/returns are only allowed for a limited time frame so grab the chance while you can rather than regret later.

You're not the first one in this forum complaining about display discoloration/problems. I don't have it in my A71 and many others don't have it too, so there may be some A71 units out there with bad amoled display uniformity. You can either tolerate it or have it replaced. It won't go away with a software update.

AnoM, 06 Jul 2020Please just admit that Poco F2 Pro is much better than Sams... moreI actually did. It's just that Samsung's OneUI does more things right than MIUI. Xiaomi can certainly learn from Samsung. Very useful features that are standard in Samsung's OneUI that are missing in MIUI: 1. Smart share - When wirelessly mirroring the phone screen to tv, Samsung's OneUI can adjust the phone's resolution and aspect ratio to match the target display's aspect ratio. Try mirroring a 16:9 Full HD video from a Xiaomi phone and do the same from a Samsung device: With the 20:9 display Xiaomi Poco F2 Pro, you'll get a windowed 16:9 video with black bars all around in the 16:9 TV screen! Not so with the 20:9 display Samsung A71: it can actually match the aspect ratio of the target display (16:9 TV in this case) so a 16:9 FULL HD video on the 20:9 phone (Samsung A71) gets displayed in full screen! The way it's meant to be, full screen with no black bars all around just because of the phones elongated 20:9 aspect ratio. Sure, there's a workaround for the Xiaomi but it's for advanced users and involves USN debugging /ADB commands and the app SecondScreen. In novice hands, it can cause display lock ups that can only be resolved by a factory reset! Not so with Samsung's 'Smart share'. As soon as you're done mirroring, the phone display reverts back to normal.

                        2. Memory and battery handling: already mentioned this: MIUI kills clock widgets and other apps that are supposed to be running permanently in the background with a simple 'clear all recent apps' tap/swipe. That is not and should not be the case. MIUI can't distinguish between apps that need to run permanently in the background and those that don't so its a tedious 3 step or 4 step process for every app you want protected from MIUI's aggressive memory and battery handling. Not many novice users know how to get over that frustrating MIUI behavior that's why they avoid Xiaomi.
                        3. Samsung's OneUI allows fully MANUAL LTE band selection so the user can choose to connect to less congested LTE bands which may not be the phone's choice when left on its own auto LTE band selection.
                        4. Samsung's OneUI allows a Samsung phone to share its internet connection with a hidden hotspot name. You can opt not to 'broadcast' the hotspot name so nobody will ever ask you who owns this hotspot name and what's the password.
                        5. Changes you made using ADB commands like auto hiding the status bar and navigation bar get retained even with phone reboot/shutdown/restart. Not so with MIUI. The moment you restart or shutdown the phone, the hidden status bar and navigation bar comes back, and you have to redo again the USB debugging and ADB commands to auto hide them again. And then there's 'Accessibility Service' permission you've granted certain apps (like Nova launcher) that Xiaomi keeps on disabling every time you restore from a saved setting. The same 'accessibility service' permission that MIUI removes for apps that display screen overlay like custom movable navigation buttons. It's really annoying to say the least. I'm hoping Xiaomi improves it with later MIUI iterations so it will be as seamless and mature as OneUI.

I know Micro SD slot is useful, but Poco F2 Pro internal storage is not small, get the 256gb version and seal the deal, then bought OTG storage as backup. Then for the radio, digital radio that use data is the way to go, even high end Samsung phone has omitted the feature long ago. The Netflix offline download screen cast, I think is Netflix's own issue rather than is Poco F2 Pro, which you should wish Netflix to fix the issue rather than blaming Poco F2 Pro. On the MIUI wise, you just has to get used to it, then you will be fine, such as knowing how to set the apps you wish it runs at the background to no restriction.
All in all, just get Poco F2 Pro if your country has it. Else, look for Oneplus 7 Pro or Oneplus 7T.

JayrBars, 05 Jul 2020Thanks you understood my opinion. I have my a71 also as ... moreTrue. The Poco F2 Pro is just better overall. The photos are much, much more detailed, sharper and better looking at 100% crop, and even the GCam with Night Sight is way much, much better on the Poco F2 Pro. And the Poco F2 Pro 's manual camera mode allows for up to 30sec shutter speed and ISO 6400 with ability to do manual focus. The A71' s 'Pro' mode is really a joke in comparison. And the 4K 60fps video is just buttery smooth and crisp on the Poco F2 Pro; and there's an 8K option too (both modes not available on the Samsung A71). Add to that, the punch hole free HDR10+ screen of the Poco F2 Pro which is just beyond comparison to the regular, (non-HDR 10+) A71 amoled screen with big punch hole. And the processor speed, fluidity and touch responsiveness of the Poco F2 Pro is just way so much better than in the A71 which sometimes misses touches, taps snd swipes. And the IR blaster is something I really missed with the A71 as all my previous phones had IR blasters which I use extensively.

Despite the Poco F2 Pro's overall superiority though, there are still things I miss about the A71 that the Poco F2 Pro just can never provide : the dedicated micro sd storage and ability to mirror offline Netflix downloads to the big screen TV which the Poco F2 Pro can never do. Also, no FM radio on the Poco. And then there's this MIUI thing that's too aggressive at killing background apps to save battery power. It causes my analog clock widgets and weather and digital time widgets to just stop updating/moving. You have to dig up settings and do many tweaks just to prevent MIUI's aggressive memory and battery management from repeatedly killing them off. Never had those problems with Samsung's One UI or with my LG phones and another Android One phone.

I wish Samsung comes up with a punch hole free - pop up selfie camera design in the future and an IR blaster too. And possibly give users the real 'Pro' mode they deserve, which Samsung only provides to its flagship phones. Competition is good. I'm hoping both Samsung and Xiaomi up their game as it will be ultimately beneficial to the customers.
