I've had this phone for over 3 years and still love it! The only complaint I have is that when I am on a call and pull it away from my ear to hang up, the screen stays black. It no longer responds to a double-tap to wake the screen up. I must hit the side button to turn the screen on at which point it treats it as though I was holding the side button down and will then ask me if I want to power off/restart or call emergency. This happens more often than not, very frustrating. It's also gotten slower, but that may be remedied by removing some large files/apps.
What is the next model to upgrade to, without breaking the bank?

This phone is so good, but mine's had microphone issues lately. Restarted and it works as usual but then some hours the issue keeps happening again and again and it's so tiring to restart it all the time only to make sure the microphone worked.

If the issue is not from the SIM
cards, please try the steps below
and check if the issue persists after
each step.
For the second step, please check
the software update for your device.
Kindly go to Setting > Software
update > Download and Install.>
Install
Third, please reset network settings
Navigate to Settings > General
Management > Reset > Reset
Network Settings

Fourth, please reset Settings. It will
restore all phone settings to default,
however the data in the device will
not be deleted.
Navigate to Settings > General
Management > Reset > Reset All

if its occuring within bootloader too, there's no reason to believe it's been done by the software update and not simply coincidence. it could be possible that samsung has added some maniac payload to mess up the display drivers and cause pixels to blow up, but this hasnt happened on my unit, and if they implemented this by chance then this would be the revelation of the century..
samsung is required to publish source code for much of their drivers too, and on android devices that can be rooted, this would be a very unintelligent move because figuring this out wouldnt be very difficult and the repercussions for samsung would be incredible

i know, the classic "its for security" argument is obnoxious, but this time its real, because you actually *can* downgrade on these devices.
samsung never limited your ability to run unsigned code on these, just unlock the bootloader and then you can run any software on these devices. if samsung really wanted to force you to upgrade, they'd lock the bootloader like apple does.
switching bootloader lock states triggers a data wipe, so it prevents the safety from being compromised too. wish more people would realize how much of an important feature this is, its the only way to have true freedom on your phone. (samsung, huawei, oppo and many more are trying to take this RIGHT away from us. just like apple did)

After updating this phone to android 12 & 13 my microphone on speaker call is not working like i can hear the voice of a person but the people can't hear me anyone experience this issue? Still this phone is great and working fine.

I wanted to love this phone because for the price it wasn't too bad, but around a month after the initial purchase i had a problem and it got a motherboard swap, fast forward 2 years later and the same thing. reliability is an issue.
