I am totally disappointed with this phone for it's Built in Camera. Whenever I took a photo with flash, it turns yellowish. I use Gcam and the result is satisfactory.

Traded in my A70 for A71 today. Lovely phone no doubt..Updated to 1 October security patch. Now is UI 2.5, with Samsung daily in place of Bixby. Speaker is louder now, fingerprint is more reliable than b4. Camera is better as an upper midrange. It's worth it so far, loving it . SD 730 soc is no slouch guys. Very smooth performance for any game. Go out and buy now guys.

jo-jo, 06 Nov 2020I read the GSMArena review about the A71 and was pleased to... moreYou can find it in the widgets.
Or go to the app drawer and the Radio app is in the samsung folder.
If it's not there, get it from the Galaxy Store. (it says you need an account but you don't actually need one to download or update apps released by samsung (you have to search them one by one though and apps not from samsung need an account if you need them)

poseidons side chick, 05 Nov 2020Samsung a71 or Huawei Nova 5t? thanks!First of all are your country 5G ready ? For example here in my county 5G will only be available in 2023, so buying a 5G phone is waste of money, by 2023 my antique Nova 5G will become an antique phone only good for paper weight.
I can foresee Huawei will pull out of mobile phone market as soon as 2021, as there unable to get any chips for their phone, all their phone will not have Google Store & Google apps, no android update, you'll end up with a junk.
I am not saying A71 good or otherwise, but just telling you Huawei/Nova/Honor is finish.

I have some questions. Sorry I don't know where to post these so I put them here.
When a VPN is activated there used to be a notification or a status bar that said connected to VPN. you could tap it and it would show the data transferred, time connected and a button to disconnect.
Now It's just not there. there's only a key icon on the top right and nothing to click on.
Is this an android change or oneui? is this also the case for you? any way to bring it back?
And also why is the battery on device care so bad in oneui2? it used to show system idle, screen and call idle from last time charged and would even show it in mAh but now it just says screen on time, does not report idle, from day and not last time charged and no mAh.
Why do they break things that already worked....
Which battery app do you recommend to fix this?
Also the screen modes. there's now only vivid and natural. no adaptive or cinema or picture which were the different color modes of sRBG, adobe RBG and the hdr color space.

Anonymous, 05 Nov 2020No, that's not how it works. 60fps is literally double... moreWhile this may be true to some extent, What I see is that the problem is with the software and not the hardware.
The SoC is not the culprit because even pixel 4a has a snapdragon 730G (almost the same as 730) which can record in 60fps without any problems.
So basically its Samsung that isn't putting enough effort into the camera's software on the midrange devices.
Unless I'm wrong and it's the camera's problem which I doubt since all the things you said are software side (maybe except stabilization since this phone does not have OIS which is a physical thing, but pixel 4a also doesn't have it))
What I'm saying is that this is by no means justified. They can put the option there not as the default but have a warning that going 60fps will lower details. Android is about choices afterall.

Anonymous, 04 Nov 2020Yeah this is pretty much what they are doing. hate that tho... moreNo, that's not how it works. 60fps is literally double the stress on the system. Sounds easy enough, considering 4K is 4x the stress. But it's a different kind of stress. If they want to ensure details are preserved properly, video to be stabilised properly, metadata to be stored properly, dynamic range to not be destroyed (remember, now the slowest possible shutter speed is down to 1/60, not really slow at all, gonna destroy video at night). Thus, at night, either ISO pumps up (along with noise) or details get smeared. It's hard.

Rickypoo, 01 Nov 2020What is ashame is that you didn't read the specs befor... moreThis is the spec I see in this very website:
video: 4K@30fps, 1080p@30/240fps, 1080p@960fps; gyro-EIS
I assumed 30/240 means from 30 to 240 you can set it but guess what, it means thats what the slowmo mode does.
even if i knew that it would not make sense like why should it be able to record 60fps for slowmo but not standard?

Anonymous, 31 Oct 2020Samsung intentionally omitted the 60fps options in its newe... moreYeah this is pretty much what they are doing. hate that though.
But personally i would not trade a little bit of cleaner video for the smooth 60fps experience.
i wish more people stood up against this because the camera and the SOC is clearly capable.
they dont so now they have also locked the cameras....

Anonymous, 30 Oct 2020Did you try using an other app like open camera or gcam?Samsung is back at it again.
just as i thought i could get a camera app because its of the few snapdragon samsungs outside of US. (gcam works much better on snapdragon)
but guess what?
samsung has locked the cameras so you cant use them with another app.
specially since oneui 2.5 they have also locked the selfie camera...
what a scam they are.
