The Manticore, 21 Apr 2023Can anyone confirm if Samsung Galaxy A73 supports the LDAC ... moreOK, so to answer my own earlier question, so as to to help out anyone who might be wondering about the same thing, yes, Samsung Galaxy A73 does support the hi-res capable LDAC Bluetooth audio codec (along with SBC, AAC, adaptX and Samsung's own proprietary hi-res SSC codec which will work well with the hi-res capable Galaxy Buds 2 Pro).

I went ahead and bought the 1more Sonoflow headphones which allow for a hi-res wireless Bluetooth connection via the LDAC codec, and here are short instructions on how to enable LDAC on the Galaxy A73 (this should work on most other Samsung phones which suppor5 LDAC): first, pair your headphones with your phone via Bluetooth, download and install the app compatible with your LDAC-supporting Bluetooth headphones, enable that codec in the app settings, and then go into the Quick Settings menu of your A73, press and hold the Bluetooth toggle, which will open the Bluetooth settings menu, and from there click the gear icon next to your connected Bluetooth headphones, which will open their settings menu, and enable the LDAC codec from the list (otherwise the headphones will default to SBC codec, I believe), and that's it!

If you now go into developer options in the settings menu of your A73 (which can be enabled by going to Settings -> About Phone -> Software Information and tapping several times on the Build Number until you see the message "You are now a developer"), and scroll down the list, you'll see that HD audio is now enabled, the Bluetooth Audio Codec is listed as LDAC, Bluetooth Audio Sampling Rate is set at 96.0 kHz and the Bluetooth Audio Bits Per Sample are set at 32 bits/sample (these can now also be changed to lower resolutons suchh as 24 bit or 16 bit).

Of course doing all this this only makes sense if you plan on listening to hi-res audio files, such as 24-bit FLAC via a compatible app (I personally use JetAudio Plus, which I couldn't recommend enough) via LDAC-capable Bluetooth headphones. If you only listen to Spotify or YouTube Music, which only stream in lossy audio revolution up to 320 kbps, or use only MP3 files, you might as well stick with the lossy SBC or AAC Bluetooth codecs. Not sure how things work with Apple Music, Tidal or Qobuz as far as streaming via Bluetooth, but it seems that they recommend you listen to hi-res streaming via wireless headphones connected to a hi-res supporting USB-C DAC (I personally use 1more quad driver wired over ear headphones connected to the Fiio KA1 digital-to-analog converter, which sounds fantastic).

In any case, I hope that this comment will help out someone who's not sure how to enable LDAC on their Galaxy A73.

such a shame that samsung discontinued the a7x series, imagine something like an a74 with a snapdragon 7 gen 1, 108mp camera, 45w+ charging that could stay competitive with xiaomi and oneplus.

Can anyone confirm if Samsung Galaxy A73 supports the LDAC Bluetooth codec? I checked the Bluetooth codec settings I'm developer options, and the only codec which can be enabled is SBC, although other codecs such as AAC, aptX, LDAC and SSC are also listed but can't be enabled. Unfortunately I do not have any Bluetooth headphones to connect with my A73, so I have no way of testing if other codecs can be enabled with the right kind of true wireless headphones. I'm considering purchasing a pair of 1more SonoFlow headphones, which support LDAC, so I wanted to make sure that this hi-res coodec will work with my A73, hence my question. Any replies will be greatly appreciated.

                                        Hi everyone..
Don't you think that A73 5G is exactly the copy of A52s 5g? ( except for headphone jack hole)??

I Have A52s 5g, And I love it.. strong, fast and has android 13 ( even it went out in 2021)

In my country it sold and doesn't import anymore... :(
