I bought one a month ago and it started dying as soon as I placed the sim card in. When it dies, it would not be possible to turn it back on without removing the battery and putting it back in. I had it replaced a few days later. The new one seemed OK for 2 weeks, then the same problem started to occur. When it dies there is no specific reason like low battery or anything else. It just dies and it is very annoying!!!

Hey don't buy dis phone coz it hasn't front cam for video chat. Rather i recommend u to buy micromax a70 which has front cam and other features r same as samsung galaxy ace,its price is also almost half of samsung(7000-8000)

hey......the firmware upgrade really helped...the phone has become faster, the restarts and hanging hv nt occured at all since d update.... if u hvnt updated d firmware yet....do it !!

Can anyone confirm if we can just download a player from the Android market to replace the mediocre player in Ace?
And someone mentioned video recording upgraded to VGA from QVGA with Gingerbread.
Who can confirm these two matters?

Also, the Defy is slightly more expensive than the Ace. And the Motoblur skin is less enticing than the Ace's Touchwiz 3 UI. The Defy's "scuba-diver" look is also somewhat unsophisticated, and chubby-looking; and unless you are a super-klutz who drops his phone into toilet bowls, swimming pools, or coffee, you probably DONT NEED this much heavy-duty protection ON a handset.

Thanks to all of you nice folks for sharin... moreSGS 2 is nice and all, but in case you overlooked it, the price is 3 times that of Ace-- meaning, 3 Aces, equal just 1 SGS 2.
The SGS 2 is a fine upgrade, and it looks eerily similar to Ace in every way except size (the SGS 2 is 4.3"), so good luck if you choose to buy it.
My only gripes about SGS 2, aside from the sky-high price, is the "plasticky, flimsy back cover." Sammy could have thrown in some premium chrome or metal to make the pricey handset look REALLY PRICEY. But they didnt.
In this "pricey handset" wars, I recommend the HTC Sensation, actually. Downside of the Sensation is just the heavier weight, but its not a dealbreaker, since you would be getting a STURDIER device, and not something that feels-and-looks FLIMSY.
But then again, Sensation will be coming out slightly more expensive than the SGS 2.
