On seconds thoughts, if my budget would have been that high so as to purchase the mini pro then I would have gone with the lww or the Ace plus(also getting JellyBean). I also want to make an amendment o my previous post in which I suggested the xperia miro. Get the Ace Plus rather than the miro. It's much better.

Galaxy Chat will also get Jellybean soon. It is officially announced by samsung itself.

All of you wanting an ICS phone in a low budget should know that this is a really nice device. Samsung's new UI looks good and performs very well. There are some things that you should keep in mind. This handset does not have very high display quality and don't expect very high performance from this one. It only has an 850MHZ processor, so don't compare it with phones having 1GHZ and higher processors. The processor is ARM v7 and supports all latest apps, so there will not be any issue of compatibility. Some apps may not run due to the low res. This phone can be a very good change for bb users. This is the lowest priced ICS handset in the market and better than most in this price range, so if you want a handset in this price bracket and want ICS then go for this one. As far as playing games and vidoes goes, you will not like it very much, so keep your preferences in mind. This phone is for those who do not want to type on virtual keyboards which can be annoying if you text very much or type long emails. There is another similarly priced handset coming up called Galaxy Music, so if you are in for a full touch phone then you can wait for that one though the screen size and the features are the same. There is another phone in this price range called the Sony Xperia Tipo which has better display res, so you can look for that one too.

yoyo, 02 Oct 2012can i ask you guys something?? which one is better, samsung... morethe mini pro is much better if you want to stay with gingerbread. all the specs are much better than this one. it slows down when ics is installed in it, so if you want ics very badly then go for the chat or if you have a higher budget then go for the xperia miro. first read all reviews of the miro before investing.

That's exactly the job of a proximity sensor. Making the screen off and allowing features like direct call. Some manufacturer put 2 proximity sensor. Like in the Glaxy Y. Perhaps it helps in making it accurate.

Battery last for more then a day in moderate usage. Battery backup is good and capacitive touch is very responsive.
Blackberry 9330 is also a good option with better resolution screen. But then you have to compulsorily activate the BIS on your blackberry mobile which costs you extra amount. Also you get good choice of apps in Android then Blackberry.
Actually both the mobiles are no nonsense phones. You can choose either. I love to type on physical qwerty keyboards thats why I chose this handset with latest OS which definitely is within my budget. Also this mobile has been promised Jellybean from Samsung. Which is another plus point. The only two cons with this handset are..... little low resolution, which doesn't matter to me.....and missing Trackpad. Thats it.
Otherwise this is the best Android Qwerty handset within this price range available as of today.

Definitely Galaxy Chat is much better with latest OS and qwerty keypad. It depends upto you, whether you loves physical Qwerty or touchscreen only. Also the inbuilt memory of Galaxy Chat is more then Galaxy Y.

Proximity sensor - ok. But what about second "hole"? Is it just prepared for second camera or LED messaging?

better buy htc chacha though i use it as a secondary phone but it looks its touch screen and resolution is great and it has 5 megs plus flash .For me itz a calling phone ,for the entertainment i have note.
