And battery ... moreWell As you have already purchased this phone, I would like to ask some question, Does the battery last for a full day or more then that? If I ask you for two options, one is Blackberry and the other this phone which one will you choose? I want to buy but I am confused between blackberry 9330 and Samsung GTB5330?

emelemes, 29 Sep 2012its pretty anoying the sms(threaded vertion) i cant see and... moreWell, you post contradict all other post. Everyone said that it's fluid even while multitasking. I myself saw a video review proving it. They even played some hd games. And gaming experience is fluid. It even scored higher benchmark compared to other phone at it's range.

Is your comment based on a personal experience or are you just bashing.

I'm sorry for asking such question. But your post about multitasking is just contradicting everyone else.

What are these two "holes" above display, on the right side of a speaker?

Is it maybe some LED for notifications?

[deleted post]Dear Yanna, this is a newly introduced handset and is readily available in the market.

Battery Backup is decent and lasts for one and a half days in moderate use. If your usage is high then battery will last for atleast a day (24 hours).

Sahil, 27 Sep 2012hii.. buddy i want to buy..can u plzz tel me , abt the Spee... moreSure buddy....Speed is quite good. This handset doesn't lags while multitasking and handle the tasks well. Ram is 512 MB which is sufficient for this mobile. Although 1 Gb could have been better, but at this price range we can't expect much. No glitches found so far.

Battery backup is very good even on Wifi.

Music Player is great. Headset produce decent quality of music. In all I can say, this mobile is value for money if low resolution screen doesn't matter to you.

                    Hope this helps. :)

AnonD-71404, 27 Sep 2012yeah i guess if you are in for qwerty then there is no bett... morethe specs are the same as the chat. the speakers are in the front and look big, so sound won't be a problem. Why do you think it will cost around 7500? The chat has the same specs and it costs 8500. Putting in an extra keypad doesn't cost much. Does it? The music has those extra speakers+3MP camera, so I think the music might be priced around 9-10k. It will be a direct competitor to the tipo which is performing pretty badly at present because of the touch screen responsiveness problem. Some units have the problem and some don't, so most people do not want to take a chance. I think that Sony may resolve the problem and release upgraded units in the coming months, so don't hurry and wait for some time.

and hey did you look at this, full specs with images of galaxy music has been released. and sadly it has qvga resolution like i guessed. the front facing speakers on a cell phone is new though , it will be a very good music device though. samsung uses great audio parts in cell phones.
also the battery is only 1300 mah , 1230 vs 1300 mah , not much of a diff from explorer.

so do share your review with us when you buy chat :)

[deleted post]around 2 GB is the user available internal memory. it is not a typo error. you get around 2 GB free when you first use it. The rest of the internal memory contains the OS + default apps + UI.

[deleted post]I purchased this handset day before yesterday. And battery backup of this handset is decent. It does have 1.95gb of internal memory for applications to be installed. Most of the apps gets installed and are compatible with this mobile. The only con is low resolution, but that doesn't matter much to me. Opera mini produce crystal clear text while you surf the net on this low resolution mobile.

I love qwerty, thats why I purchased this mobile. I hate typing on touch phones. Also this is the latest mobile with 4.04 Icecream Sandwich and Jellybean is already promised by Samsung for this handset.

Installed many apps on my mobile and still this mobile doesn't lags.

For those who love qwerty keypad phones can go for this handset, as no other better option is available at this price range with latest OS (other then blackberry). :)

AnonD-71404, 27 Sep 2012thanks for your reply , its good having a discussion with y... moreyes the explorer has the punch that you need. It is obvious that you and I are after different things. I want better app performance and compatibility and a new OS. You want games, music, videos. I a a heavy PC gamer, so when I play games on a PC then I look to play casual games like cut the rope, paper toss etc. So not being able to play HD games or a not so good sound quality does not matter to me. I want a keypad for long emails and texts. So the gchat is almost perfect for my use. I am not a heavy internet user on phone, so the qvga res does not bother me much. I just want a smartphone in my hands to use it when I need it and to pass my time when I am bored, so I don't look towards having a good res or anything else. I just don't like the other phones in this price range at the moment so I'll stick with this one for the time being. It's good discussing with you.

also if you plan on playing HD games , keep in mind galaxy music/chat wont allow that due to 2 reasons.

                                    1) qvga resolution
                                    2) lack of support for broadcomm gpu.

i can only work after rooting and using other apps to force it.

check any gameloft games , you will see it has sd data for different gpu. it has support for adreno , mail 400 , power vr , there is no sd data for broadcomm.

example - n.o.v.a HD . this was the first version and it was a arm v6 game . but it had no support for broadcom cpu and it did not ran on galaxy y .. unless you root it , install chainfire , reduce texture quality and use diff plugin and then play.

and by the way galay music will be officially launched on october 11 . samsung sending invites

                                      1) yes internal memory is a problem with 90 mb only. but hey guess what, you can move 95 % of the apps to the sd card. you can even move facebook , whatapp messenger easily. only the app with widgets and pre installed apps like gmail cant be moved. with this method , check this thread and this method works without rooting. it is only a bit extra work of moving apps thats it. read the thread
                                      http://www.htcexplorerforum.com/htc-explorer-how-to/(resolved)-forcing-apps-to-install-to-the-sd-card-without-root/
and once you root it you know everything can be done but lets talk about non rooted phones , since i dont like voiding my warranty.
                                      2) no , i dont want a phone necessarily for gaming. just basic games would do fine like temple run and 1 or 2 hd games would do fine. not much of a gamer.
what my requirements are , it should have a awesome display wih 3.2 and awesome music quality. i hate pixelation . the first time i heard about galaxy y it was mind blowing at that price. but seriously when i looked at the display i felt like trashing the phone. every text looked pixelated . compromising on screen for performance is a deal breaker for me. i can bet samsung will not release hvga on a 3 inch screen .
also i was not talking about shooter game . i was talking about temple run. it was running with little hiccups , not the touch screen part . the touch screen was fine. the gpu is weak and had problems handling temple run .
regarding os . i dont like ics , i like jb or gb. because ics lags . yes that is the main advantage that chat/music has it has jb. but then gb on explorer runs very smooth. and it already has cynagoenmod 9.1 100 % working rom. jb is under development right now. so after 1 year i can install jb till then i can enjoy sense 3.5 on gb. and in terms of look there is no difference in ics or jb. since oem skins the os like sense , touchwiz etc. jb is awesome .
there are only 3 cons of htc explorer.
                                      1) internal memory ( already told you the workaround )
                                      2) battery 1230 mah but chat has 1200 mah , not sure what galaxy music will have
                                      3) no compass sensor. tipo also does not have that.

                                      disadvantahes of music ,chat

1)qvga resolution .( deal breaker for me )
                                      2) a little bit smaller screen .
also there is not much of a differnce in cpu between 2 . as you can see the msmm7225a is a advanced chip , it actually says coretx a5 which you might think is weaker , but in reality they perform better than cortex a8 but behind cortex a9 . this is due to architecture advancement done by qualcomm. so think of it as cortex A 8.5 . it reflects in scores also. antutu for tipo is 2700 while chat has 3300. chat has better cpu no dout but the difference is quite small
