Kingslayer, 21 Feb 2019The bummer is it doesn't have a headphone jack. Boo! It get... moreDefinitely agree. After all, wireless headphones have to sacrifice sound quality for battery longevity. You certainly don't face the latter with wired ones.

Right now Royole, Xiaomi could be like asking questions, "How come our foldable screen so dim, so many fingerprints and creases? Why Samsung's foldable screen has got nice matt finish and bright? And how they do it with such sharp bend and almost zero creases at center? How???"

Let's wait for Huawei's foldable phone this Sunday to see how competitive it is. Or they probably cancel it after they saw Samsung's Galaxy Fold. LOL.

The bummer is it doesn't have a headphone jack. Boo! It gets annoying. Wireless headphones is going to destroy battery life. The lack of a microSD is no biggie if it has half a terabyte.

Can it compare screen size with huawei mate 20X?

This is the greatest mobile product Samsung has ever announced. Better than the first Note or S6 edge. This is really going to change everything. Love the Willy Wonka music in that promo trailer.

Apple iPhone Xs Max (512 GB) = $1,449
                  Samsung Galaxy Fold (512 GB) = $1,980

                  Storage: 512 GB = 512 GB
                  RAM: 4 GB < 12 GB
                  Cameras: 3 < 6

If you're used to Apple prices, this wouldn't be too shocking. They sell laptops for $3000.

For my money, it's not worth it. I'm really not into smartphones like I used to and was never into tablets at all. I'd rather pick up a $400-$500+ PlayStation 5 hopefully released by 2021-2022 and use that for 10 years. But if you compare it to the highway robbery Apple loves to do, the price isn't that bad.

Too bad no expandable storage but half a TB should be good for most people's needs for the next 5 to 10 years.

Anonymous, 20 Feb 2019The next NOTE 10 should have a fold version too !! It would... morewould be dope but i would guess more realistic for the Note 11 since they wouldn't want to canibalise themselves and the tech is still way more expensive than the note price.

But we also saw the s10+ have the same price as a Note, so yeah idk

Price of IPhone Xs Max 512 GB in India is $2109, it is More than Samsung Innovative Fold Phone $1900+.

Refinements for the Galaxy Fold 2 -

Make the outside screen BIGGER. It looks narrow when folded which makes it one-handed friendly already but too much top and bottom bezels like we're getting transported back to 2007.

Try to make it thinner when folded. Probably not at Motorola RAZR-level yet but I do want it thinner when folded.

Lower the price. If they can get it to under $1000 in 2-3 years, I'm totally in.

For now, I'm just waiting for the PlayStation 5. The one product line that has never disappointed me in nearly 23 years. I have loved all the PlayStations I've ever owned.

Other than that, this first-gen Fold is pretty solid as is. The software is quite slick on it with no issues transitioning from fold to unfolded. This is a game changer, folks. The biggest game changer in form factor in a dozen years.

                            Sounds and looks amazing!

Lack of 3.5mm jack and sd slot however a major oversight in my view...

You can hear the awkward "whoa" in that Tech Insider and CNET video after the guy announced the price. A few awkward snickers moments later. You can also hear the tent in their pants starting to fold! LMAO! Starting at $1980, it matches the year I was born.

Not trying to justify price but it's not like Samsung gimped the specs. 512 GB, 12 GB RAM, 6 cameras. It's about $500 more than a 512 GB iPhone XS Plus which has a third of the RAM and cameras while the Fold has a bigger display than it unfolded while one-handed friendly like the XS when folded.

You can hate the price. I get that. I think $1,500 would seem more reasonable given this is new tech and having a hinge like that with two different batteries is very complicated engineering. But you can't blame Samsung for offering weak specs for this device.

It looks good and has great specs. Certainly looks way better than ZTE's concept. I wish Nintendo came up with a Switch or successor to a Switch with a foldable display. The og Switch is awkward to put in the pocket. Foldable displays would be great for gaming handhelds too.

                              R.I.P. iPads and all tablets

Samsung worked for a decade on foldable displays.

it's definitely not 16:10 aspect ratio, if the resolution is 2152:1536... it's more like 14:10...

Samsung. You could have cut down the camera. and that puny extra screen, the extra effort to code 2 screen design. Use that cost and resource to get a jack + card slot.

Simply put it. Just make a foldable tablet.. call it Samsung Tab S Fold..

THERE IS NO NEED TO THINK so much and add so many useless components. In general use case, why tablet is less desirable when moving around is because its form factor.. hard to put in pocket or small bag. Having it folded will be the biggest appeal to end users.. But now the cost and gimmicky nature of multi screen.. complex camera arrangement make this only a funny experiment.

You could have earn some serious money from this. sigh..
