You may need a larger card if you decide to use Reg GPS, instead of A-GPS, so you'd need storage space for the maps. Enjoy your Gio, I do mine :)

I don't know what some folks here expect from a $240 phone?! The Galaxy Gio is probably the lowest priced Android phone now with it's specs and features.
Show me another 800Mhz Agdroid phone with same screen rez, for a lower price! I own this unit and the build quality is excellent, much better than LG or SE, not to mention reliability, which is expected from Samsung, so get one if you can, You won't regret it and won't break ya bank acc. Handset actually looks much better, than on the pictures! I had the choice between this or the Galaxy Ace, I picked the Gio for it's price vs features and comfortable handle, feels more like an Iphone 3Gs in ya hand.

Anybody why lg optimus 1 price is the same as newly release Samsung Gio since optimus 1 is release earlier than Gio and price doesn't seen to drop, it is because is a "Google" approved phone, if u don't believe me jus take a lg optimus 1 and take alook the bad cover, it have a "Google" logo there, not only tat optimus 1 is upgradable to 2.3 cos is a Google approved phone, go check it out.:)

Jaani, 10 May 2011Me too want to know when this coming in India..I request GS... moreo1 has 600mhz and 512mb ram. but the ram its too big for 600mhz cpu.you can opened many many application but the same time, but the performance will be down because the lack of cpu.
gio just have 278mb ram. its enough to opened many applications

Hey Samsung!! Nice Idea the Galaxy Series but.... WHY you forgot this small things???
The Galaxy Gio: IF the screen was only 1' more like(3.2' --> 3.3') the Gio was a very nice and hard choiche for mid/level smartphone on the market to buy.
What you can see in this model, and we don't know why(?).
Is the speaker upper to the logo samsung is in black color...But if you see in almost newest models of samsung phones have a chrome effect on that...Just in 'Galaxy Gio S5660' is black? They forgot...ok!
After purchising your mobile you have to buy of course a memory card, because internal it's only 158 MB and is very very poor....minimum a 16GB card (ad cost almost 35 euro for a good one: sndisk class 4 i suggest).
Also is missing a Native Divx Player...You have to arrange to buy some player by the android market...and maybe if you lucky it works!
I really need something small and a Quality\Price product like This Gio.
It's a fantastic opportunity for beginners to start with an Android smartphone, you gonna fall in love with android in a very few weeks.
Don't forgot, hardware is the same but newer (and maybe better) than IPhone 3GS.
Camera it's ok in day time, but don't have flash led. Video is so and so....
But you have a 800mhz processor ..not that bad!
Resolution is same 3GS, lcd have a good brighthness...
The 3'Inch less screen (than galaxy Ace is 3.5' about 20% more screen but the same battery(!) 1350mAh) this means should be a good autonomy battery life. and till now it's just fine for me!

Me too want to know when this coming in India..I request GSM ARENA to compare this with LG O1 in their video review...This has 800Mhz but 278Mb total ram & O1 has 600Mhz with 419MB ram...So which is the better combination for a fast & smooth mutitasking experience????

Do you hear any hissing or buzzing sounds in the headphones between songs or on quiet parts of songs?
