[deleted post]Hello Ninka, don't worry too much about the heating issue. I have used Samsung Grand Quattro earlier and it is almost same as that phone. While using 3G if signal is very weak(one or two bars) phone gets heated within 5-10 mins. While playing games(I have tried temple run only for 15 mins) it becomes a little bit warm. I haven't noticed any heating during video playback or any other common day to day usage. I am yet to test it with long duration gaming. Would check and update it here by this weekend.

jadav@, 20 Mar 2014frnds can i install apps on external memory?Yes, you can move selected apps to external SD card in Grand2. Only those apps which support moving to SD card can be moved. Some of the apps don't support that. That's not a problem of phone, that would be because of problem with the app.

Ashwani, 20 Mar 2014how to use GPS navigation in this phone, navigation is not ... moreIn recent updates to Google map (about six months back) Google has merged the navigation with Google map and removed that triangular icon "Navigation" app. You just search the destination in Google maps app and once it finds the place in map, in bottom right corner you would see the car/bus icon(depending on your preferred mode of travel) and if you click on that car/bus icon You would get the menu "Start navigation" in next screen. You can also change the route options in this page.

charan, 20 Mar 2014go for xperia c superb no lag internal memory is less but u... moreYes, apps2sd can be used to move some apps to SD card, but not all apps support this. Most of the Google apps don't support apps2sd and Google keeps updating their apps so often that it would fill lot of internal memory once you update the Google apps. Even with 8GB internal memory in Grand2 After installing my commonly used apps (almost no games except Temple Run2 and I have a 32GB SD card for music/camera/video data ) I just have about 2.3 GB free. I can imagine what would have happened if it had only 4GB internal memory.

May I know which sensor is giving problem for you?
I am using the phone for about 2 weeks and already installed more than 50 apps but I hasn't hanged even once in last two weeks. However, once in a day(usually in the night/end of the day) I just long press the home button and close all the background/hidden apps by clicking on that cross symbol in bottom right corner. If you don't do this, there would be too many background /hidden apps running and phone becomes laggy. If you follow this trick, you don't even have to reboot the phone. Till now in last two weeks my phone has never shut down/rebooted on it's own. rather in my old Grand Quattro I used to get that problem sometimes but in Grand2 I don't see any issue.
Also make sure that you are using the latest version of Firmwire.

chedsabahmalaysia, 20 Mar 2014Hi Alokeb. I am using the original removable back. You are ... moreHello chedsabahmalaysia, yes, you are right and I am almost sure this metal plate is used by Samsung for heat dissipation. Around that area heat is more so may be the heat dissipating components like CPU are located in that area. In Latest Snapdragon series CPU and Baseband modem are integrated into a single IC so that creates more problem when we use 3G for long duration. Most of the ICs used in consumer electronics(including mobile) support upto 70 deg C ambient temperature (some of them would support upto 85 deg) - so we need not worry much about reliability of the phone due to this CPU heat (most of us would have seen more heat than this in bottom side of many laptops) unless mobile hangs/shuts down due to heat.

If holding mobile due to overheat is becoming an issue(till now I haven't faced that issue), then you can use a flip cover which fits on top of the existing back cover. Below is one such flip cover which I purchased recently and it is working fine. However, note that S-view won't work with this particular flip cover. Below is the link:
                        http://www.ebay.in/itm/KALAIDENG-KA-SERIES-PREMIUM-LEATHER-FLIP-CASE-for-SAMSUNG-GALAXY-GRAND-2-G7102-/231176751442

I purchased this Flip cover last week for 490 Rs but it seems they have now increased the rate to 690.
                        Hope this helps.

Hi. I just noticed there is a sheet of metal at the back of the original removable cover. That is where all the heating problem centred and dissipated. I guess this is Samsung solution to prolong the phone internal and the battery importantly. Why dont Samsung elaborate more about this brilliant and out of the box idea.? What do you say, guys.? Mind giving your thought.?

You are right about the metal at the back side. I guess this is Samsung solution into prolonging the life of their phone internal and the battery importantly. A good idea i guess. But, having done so, what happened is the metal side gets really hot when heavy usage and that is why my cpu-z detected high temperature number..

Go for Note 2 if you can manage with single SIM! Note 2 has many fetaures like NFC, OTG, S-pen etc which you won't get in Grand2. Only advantage of Grand 2 is Dual SIM. Note 2 is a very nice phone without any major issues.

chedsabahmalaysia, 19 Mar 2014Yes. Your are right about the phone heats up when the signa... moreHello chedsabahmalaysia, yes, with low signal strength(one or 2 bars) and continuous 3G usage heating is quite common in Android phones. My earlier Samsung Grand Quattro(which I lost recently) also used to have the same problem- may be this is a problem with Qualcomm CPUs since Grand Quattro also had Qualcomm Snapdragon.
To verify the heating issue with games, I played Temple Run 2 for about 15 mins yesterday and the phone just becomes warm(near the camera flash LED), but not hot. I didn't check the temperature. This weekend I would test it more thoroughly by playing Temple run 2 for about 30 mins and check the temperature and update in this forum.

Also One thing I noticed is that the original Samsung back cover has a metal(copper) plate inside the back cover near the camera flash area for heat disssipation. The cheap/duplicate Flip covers available in market doesn't have the copper plate- so heat dissipation won't be proper. So make sure that the flip cover you use has the copper plate. Another alternative is to use a flip cover which just fits on top of the existing back cover. I purchased one such flip cover from ebay(would send you the link later on) and it is working fine.
