I have a Galaxy grand prime which model no. SM-G530H. It's a nice phone but there are some problem. It runs smoothly in Kitkat 4.4.4 android version. When I install the official released lollipop 5.0.2 my device become slower. mainly apps are not working properly and crashed sometimes. Then I downgrade my phone from 5.0.2 to 4.4.4. although it was not so easy. Now it's running smoothly. But automatic updater notify me again and again i cant stop this automatic update notification. So Galaxy Grand Prime SM-G530H is not suitable for lollipop don't upgrade it.

I use samsung galaxy grand prime. After I update my phone to lolipop, I started getting notification that google play service won't work unless it's being updated. I hv already updated , but the same notification appears. Please help me! Any solution.

Though I think Grand series got killed because there are A series and J series phablet category too. I know Grand series is the cheap low budget phablet category but E series from Samsung seem like a nice challengers. There seem to be no more Grand series model since Grand Prime released in 2014. I guess this is the last of it.

Galaxy Grand Plus in 2016 anyone? Upgraded to 3gb ram, 5.7" 1080p display, Superamoled, & snapdragon 652. Grand series is the only cheap phablet category made by Samsung.

I hate my grand prime. I really can't express this enough. I had a galaxy s3 before this, and have had Nothing but issues since I've gotten it home. First, many times, no one can hear me. This is not just a problem with my phone, but my husband's too! This is very frustrating for his business calls. We returned those ones and they gave us new primes...still issues. Storage sucks. Many cases block the mic hole. While I'm on the phone, my face is pushing mute, surfing the Web. ..etc. overall. ..its a piece. Oh, the camera sucks too. Everything looks foggy.

Also you get what you pay for . The ram may not be the greatest but theres obviously going to be some stuff that make it different from higher end smartphones . If the storage is an issue then just add a micro sim to store all your photos and clean unnecessary cache in the storage every once in a while .

Grand Prime, 22 Jan 2016i wanted to update to Lollipop my Grand Prime via ODIN but ... moreWhich is your baseband? XXU or XCU? Both have lollipop updates on youmobile and sammobile. Search for it and download it and flash via odin.

To all of you who thinks this phone has lagging issues, sucks or a waste of money , you should've think first before buying the phone. It was not hidden that this phone has only 1GB ram. This phone is not for heavy gaming and such apps that eats ram alot. Also, before using another app, be sure to close an existing one on the app capacitor to avoid lagging. The phone depends on the user. If the user is dumb, the phone will also be dumb. So simple.
The phone is good for casual using like facebook, messenger or light games only. Plus its processor is better than S6, you should be grateful too that it could be upgraded to Android 5.
