anonomous, 18 Jan 2016I bought this phone about a week ago. Not bad so far. love... morethere is a zoom on the j5. just swipe with your finger and thumb, this will zoom in or out.

useless if the people buy old j5 at this time, because new J5(SM-J510x) will have display 5.2 inch, RAM 2 GB, Memory 16 GB

sonu, 19 Jan 2016Best phone but music player apps mising...I have tried out 15 music apps, none will recognise the music transferred on to the Micro sd card. I have learned through forums that the J5 phone will not scan the sd card and therefore will not recognise and include that music data on your playlists even when searching.
Answer is don't buy the J5 if you love music as there is not enough storage space on the phone.
I am unable to play any of 260 albums on my 32GB card.
Why has Samsung ignored or negleted this important app.

This is the best phone in the world for its Price, far better than most high end phones. Camera, battery, gaming, portability is 100% . don't look back when buying.

Disappointing to learn that Samsung music player is not includedon the J5, I thoroughly enjoyed using it on my S3.
I have loaded 21 Gb of music on a 32 Gb micro sd card and as yet I can't find a suitable app to play it. ANY suggestions ?
I guess I would not have purchased the J5 if I had known about it, it is so wrong to presume anything about mobile phones!
Come on Samsung please give us an OS with "Music Player".

I bought this phone about a week ago. Not bad so far. love the selfi option with the flash for front and back. it was either a Samsung Tab E tablet (my husband think this was the better option) or S6 (that I can absolutely not afford). I really hope I did not make a mistake. the only thing I noticed-NO ZOOM option like my husbands S4 which is way older than mine for taking close up pictures. also the S4 have a lot more functions. I was told the J5 replaced the S5 (which I actually wanted) and the J5 is the mini S6 by Vodacom. I honestly hope this was a good choice since I am an estate agent and need a phone that does not give me problems. I had the GT-S7500i an d this phone is BAD?????

GOOD:
* flash for selfies
* light
* cheap
BAD:
* when enable "flash for selfies" it stays lit instead of flashing only when photo is taken
* back camera has difficulty to focus properly.
* Manual screen brightness
* It lacks some good sensor, so you can not use Virtual Reality apps.

Anonymous, 14 Jan 2016P8 lite is far better than j5 processor,camera,build qualit... morep8 lite with octa-core processor sounds more promising than the quad-core processor of the J5, both 1.2Ghz A53 processors. But please don't forget the chipset, Huawei Kirin chipsetss are known for not delivering the performance the Snapdragon delivers. From my point of view the Snapdragon firmware might get the same (or close to) real processing speed out of the quad core processor than compared to that of the Kirin out of the octa core processor.
I like the user interface (Emotion 3.1) of Huawei that allows more customization and thus a nicer user experience better.
But if it comes to reliability, firmware updates and for me most importantly battery life then the J5 is the better option.
