One more time .... J7 that came with 5.1.1-Lollipop, out of the box - have already been updated to 6.0.1 Marshmallow. Thus there is no room for Nougat.
J7 that came with 6.0.1 Marshmallow out of the box, will get update to Nougat 7.1.1, and is also the last OS update from Samsung.
This are the FACTS - check with Samsung ... Telco carriers dont develop OS - Samsung does with Google.

Unyora, 08 Nov 2017Nicosam my phone is already rooted :(The factory reset should restored full functionality ... it may be the phone is rooted, thus it's not doing a full reset. Must un-root it, then reset again. If these steps does not work, try the FB Samsung J7 group in PH ..... https://www.facebook.com/groups/1044809842232961/

Dont buy Samsung phone its worst!!
See smj700f price dropped to rs8600 from 15k
About 40 % they already eqquipts with much less features & after that they reduce their price too much even can't provide nougat to international model..!!!!!

After the reset, then connect to WiFi to get updates, regardless unlock or not. Which brings another point .... you may need to pay online service to get it unlock.

I'm so jealous that T/T1 already got nougat :( sad to say I already got my J700P and it is difficult to unlock it here in Philippines. I also have some questions why is my J7 can't receive any file using shareit but it can send? And theres no mobile data icon or shortcut at the notification panel? BTW I already got the latest updates.

Been running Nougat 7.1.1 in the last few weeks now, and I'd like to share the experiences with it .... It definitely brought back new life to the phone, battery last longer, boots faster, lots of improvements in memory, storage - makes you feel like its a high-end midrange. the T/T1 & P variants are the only ones benefited from this update, sad to hear about it. But I do want to mention this J7 2015 -all variants - no longer has warranty. So rooting it makes a lot of sense, go for it, no worryies on 'bricking' it. Definitely will keep it as an active back-up phone, along with my S7-edge, which btw still on 7.0, and will get Oreo by next year.
