got the Nougat update (I'm from the Philippines) and no battery draining when idle on mine. running on 38 hours now since the last full charge and I still have 70% remaining. I'm not a heavy user though. I mainly use my phone for texting, email, facebook and some snap shots and video recording here and there.

to those experiencing battery drain try using the power saving mode. go to settings > device maintenance > battery, and set the power saving to MID. or MAX if you'd like to try the simplified UI, I do think that setting will significantly improve the battery.

AnonD-587749, 22 Sep 2017I updated that but still the same problem is there...Factory reset the phone by press and hold volume, power and home key. Clear all cache partion and reboot. Hope this will solve your issue. I am writting this still my battery 71% and alsmost 2% consumed in a normal use and 4% consumed in heavy use per hour. Technically bettery power reduction may faster in 100 to 90% and slower in 80 to 40% and then again higher in 40 to 15%. This is normal behavior of a li-polimor battery. The question is how OS is stable and handle it. Its tottaly depends on the device Karnel file which hold the codes

I hope the new update has a hotspot bugfix because mine's broken.

AnonD-587749, 22 Sep 2017I updated that but still the same problem is there...Do a factory reset then.

India received the Nougat 7.0 update since one one month. But you may face battery drain issue. I have reported this to Samsung RnD. Even if you keep phone locked battery may keep loosing its power. Now thanks to Samsung they have released a new 33MB update yesterday, no: 161228 which solved this issue and battery now last long ever before. Guys please check for your OTA update in settings and install this update as soon as possible. I have used the phone entire day and still its 71% power remains. Hats up to Samsung. You may have not the best designed phones but you have most advanced and stable android OS. Softwere updates are frequent.
